Im sure someone will come up with something. I'm wondering what they will do with the fender flares since there one piece.

Funny... You took the opposite approach I was thinking...

I think we'll see aftermarket bumpers requiring cutting of the grill at that level and basically it will be a flat upper bumper-line without the large protrusion for the grill that we're seeing... someone has a photoshop of that concept floating around here somewhere.

I saw somewhere on here that someone put a 12+ pelfrey bumper on an 05-11 and it looks pretty good. It covers the bottom of the grill but it's in front of it so you don't actually cut the grille at all. If they designed it similarly it may work out.
Edit: Found the pic. this is a 12+ bumper on a 05-11

 WTF?!? That front bumper is hideous! I can't believe Toyota would try to pass that shit off as being ok, looks like it's been hit, repaired, and the owner was too cheap to paint it. Nice work Toyota....

No fender flares? Is it two pieces or what?

From my understanding, that ugly black bumper comes with the 2.7l 4x2 auto SR Tacoma. The 4x4 auto and manual have color keyed bumper.

Here is my concept cut I posted back in January of this year. Get rid of everything below the red line and throw something similar to the 5th gen t4r bumper that whats his name has (white, badass t4r). Cut the grille in half, remove 6" of so from the top section, plastic weld it back together, remove the insert and replace with mesh satoshi style. Remove 2" from all the fenders and flares, add a 3" lift and 35s and this thing will be beast.

I'm not sure if any of this makes sense o_O

That's what I'm hoping someone does for the bumper.

I guess the days of unbolting a stock bumper, and bolting on a replacement bumper are long gone...

The truck hasn't been out long enough for anyone to have built a bumper yet.. just give it some time. I'm willing to bet someone would build one that bolts right up..

Insane fab is working on one right now. They've been working on the 2016 SEMA truck.

Typically in modern vehicles, the functional metal bumper is underneath the plastic rear bodynpanels. If you come across a vehicle missing the lower rear panel, you'll see it.
