The guy doing my exhaust has been doing it for 30+ years he does a lot of custom work for show vehicles and performance vehicles and such iv seen a lot of his work in car shows around here so not to worried about it and no company is gonna reroute the pipes I need moved for skid plate clearance and idk if you have been under the truck yet but Toyota made that exhaust crappy as hell no mandrel bends from cats to collector and that piece that routes under the transfer awe from driver to passenger side that I'm having moved the stock pipe is smashed down to like a 1" tube on the inside

Is our stock setup really that bad - see bold?

Does the magna-flow setup improve on all of those issues?

No , the magna flow system does not address this 1 inch pipe crossover that he is speaking of. He is speaking of a complete re-route and new exhaust management system from headers back

I don't know if it's that bad but there is a section that is before where the cat back attaches that is smashed a little. It's where it crosses over to become one pipe. I'm thinking about getting my section rerouted as well for future stuff and to have it not smashed down some.

Thank you for the update! I've finally decided that I'd like to go ahead with it myself. Shop in town wants $689 installed, but I found it for $555 on Amazon and went for it. Figured I could probably do it myself with a friend or something since there's no welding required.

Yup! I've been checking it off and on for the price to go back from that seller, it finally did today and I snagged it for $555 shipped with no tax. Seems like a deal to me! Even if I did pay the shop to install it, it would still be less since I'm not paying taxes on the part, just the install. Seller is Jarboys for those that are interested, they'll be in the buying options if Amazon ever gets them back in stock themselves. Amazon had it for $575, but with tax in my state. Summit Racing has it too, but at $675. Same with Jeggs, Realtruck, eBay, etc.

Kind of hard to see in these pics but maybe you can make out where it is:

thx dude! & offset! saw yours after I replied :) I'll have to take a peek today.

Looks like the smash part is off the drivers side cat.

Edit: Now I see that the magna-flow connects at the base of the Y pipe
    leaving the smash as is.

Just got a call from Jarboys and they told me to cancel the order because they are out of stock. Yet still had it listed on Amazon.

Yup, it's just a cat-back so it doesn't help with the smash unless you go custom from further up and re-reoute it. Kind of dumb IMO (on Toyota's end, not Magnaflow's since they're only cat-back).

yep even though you put the cat back on, the smash stays so a reroute is needed. I saw a clean setup while ago but I'm not sure if it's for a 2016 but it's pretty much the same idea. This is pretty much what I want to do with mine:

I just got an e-mail from VOLANT. And this is what it said:

We will be building the system for the new Tacoma's but we are some time off for a release date, current estimated eta is going to be 6-8 months.

So I told him, DAM that new motor.

    oh well.

I'd like to see and will try just the tube from stock box to throttle body. Anyone
you know of offering that yet?

me either. I figure when we see CAI's we'll see the stand alone tube, for the
difference in price there seems to be no real reason to get the entire CAI
and replace it all. I will go that route if the price of just the tube is close to
    a full replacement.
