It used to be for me too, but with all of the changes and NASCAR b.s. changes and the points systems changing every year, it's harder for me to enjoy. I'm getting old my friend!

I'm actually doing that for a friend of the family's son. He's racing a Legends car in CO north series. First race is May 31st at Big Country Speedway in Cheyenne. I love grass roots racing!

I love what nascar has done this year. Kansas has been the first "bad" race imo, that's out of 11 races. The only thing I could see nascar doing to improve the sport would be to add a valence instead of splitter and lower the downforce a little more. Then it'll be perfect. We are too late into the season and next season to ever see that but damn would it be great.

Splitters look cool, and they are still smaller than the Xfinity splitters

Are you saying you support the splitter?

Yes. The frontforce helps in many cases.

I beg you to "look" at the k&N series cars now that they have a valence and resemble the gen 6 cars

I haven't liked the looks of the Grand National/Winston Cup/Sprint Cup cars since the mid 70s. I know, I know...I'm old, but boy, I loved the looks of those cars that looked like the ones you drove on the streets. I grew up watching the old ABC Wide World of Sports, when that was the only thing that showed NASCAR racing. I was enthralled by Fireball Roberts driving the #22 Pontiac, Richard Petty in the #43 Plymouth, and others of that generation. Saw Fireball's black and gold 62 Pontiac at the Talladega Speedway museum several year ago. Great car and great time for NASCAR.

Richard Petty used to talk about being able to get on a creeper and slide under his race car and work on it. Now days they're lucky if the jack fits under the cars.

That was a different world. Cars used to have stock chassis and basically the stock bodies modified, and roll cages stiffened the frames. Now the cars are completely manufactured and nothing resembles a "stock" car at all, other than the fact that all production cars basically have no style or identity anymore. Apparently they all came up with the same shape in the wind tunnel testing, so that's what they went with. I personally like the old aero dependant cars that preceded the COT cars. They were fast, had some down force, had some drag, and adjustments to the cars were a big deal. You could have 10 different drivers that drove very different. Now it's like they all drive either this way or that. Start racing cars that come out of the factory with tweaks here and there, and you'll start to see manufacturers taking this sport serious again. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday right?
