Wonder if cheaper tickets wouldn't help fix it... I mean alot of tracks could be cheap like AMS... $159 for 3 races and a Sunday pit pass

For what it's worth, car #8 is either a Plymouth Duster or a Dodge Demon, circa 71-72. Chrysler produced short track "kit cars" in the early 70s.

DUDE. SO much bullshit. Tony Stewart is calling Brian France out on being an absentee leader for the series. It's true. I've seen a lot of good commentary this week regarding all these dumb changes. I watched maybe five races last year, attended three (Atlanta, Charlotte, Talladega). I'm going to Atlanta next month and maybe Charlotte All-star, but don't plan on anything else. Man. it's like Brian France had a heart attack and wrapped an ace bandage around his head for first aid.

"Stewart said he was miffed last year when France walked up to him at Pocono Raceway and “gave me a hard time” about Stewart pushing for a low-downforce aerodynamic package. NASCAR – specifically vice president of racing development Gene Stefanyshyn – had convinced France a high-drag package was the better fix for the lackluster racing.

The low downforce package eventually won out, but the memory of France’s lecture stuck with Stewart.

“I sat there in my head thinking, ‘Wait a minute. You’re standing up for a guy (Stefanyshyn) who’s never worked on a race car, never been on a race team and now is making decisions on what the rules package is going to be versus guys who have been driving a race car for 20 or 30 years,’” Stewart said. “You’re telling us that guy is smarter than we all are?’ That’s where Brian France and I disagree.”

Stewart said he’s the only driver who will speak up to France about the problems facing the sport, and “that’s the problem.”

“I don’t care what the repercussions are,” he said."

Regan Smith to Tommy Baldwin Racing in the #7. Alex Bowman out. I figured this might happen. Lots of musical chairs happening in the eleventh hour in the top two series. I tihnk the teams were all waiting to see how the new franchise things was going to pan out before getting drivers.

Ty Dillon in the #95 part time. #33 going away as teams merge. Michael McDowell will race most of the races.

Not yet but it looks eminent. Many of the back marker teams are consolidating which means less full-time teams and less open seats for drivers. The big teams want only 36 "franchises" with guaranteed money for them. They want to squeeze the little guys out, run less cars so the purse percentage is bigger for everyone else.

Ridiculous! Always screwin people. The small team trying to make it, is at its core what racing is all about. That is the blue collar backbone that inspires people like me to try and race! Absolute BS
