I really hate it when its the second half of the season and I have to watch the horrible NBC coverage.

The percentages were calculated and showed that the coverage last night was 30% commercials, Fox's highest was the Coke 600 at around 23%. Ridiculous.

 

Just think, this is the start, and NBC loves some commercials

well..... I gotta say, he dominated.... Austin Dillon did good too. the new track surface is alright, it was a good race, with little to no BS... that was old school 1.5 mile racing there

What's your verdict

 

This is the best repace of a track I've seen, still able to race side by side. Hate it for the lack of grip on a new track, hard for everyone on restarts to maintain grip when in a pack like that, a lot of spins.

 

Fricken crash-fest so far. I hate the 24 & 21 are out due to the 78's slip up. I hope the 4 doesn't win.

 

I like how turn 1 & 2 is not as wide. 18 less feet of width is a significant change. I'm watching via the NASCAR Drive app on nascar.com. It's almost totally split screen with commercials though (sigh).

7 cautions in first 100 laps. 10 cautions total with slightly less than 100 laps to go. Harvick has dominated. 12 lead changes. 9 leaders. Track is real green. Lots of cars bobbling and slipping on the new surface. Most exciting moment of the night was the Silverado that burned up in the parking lot, setting two other cars on fire. Some shmuck left his propane grill in the bed of his truck strapped to the cab. Fronts stretch was covered in black smoke.

 

I just can't get into it anymore...

 

Really NBC? Bad camera angles, missed coverage, too much commentary. I can get better coverage by strapping a GOPRO to Michael J Fox and commentary by the teacher from Charlie Brown.

@thewarriordinghy 50 laps to go and Keselowski has CHECKED out. He shot through the front row on the last restart and is now 3 seconds ahead. Harvick is suddenly fading. Kenseth in 2nd, Kyle Busch in 4th. Truex up from 22nd to sixth after a pit road penalty.

 

@thewarriordinghy Harvick losing all grip and handling in the turns. Truex is BLASTING through the pack, just knocking cars off as though he were on newer tires (he's not). A lot of guys moving up the track to try the variable banking but Truex is hugging the bottom yellow line. Made up 7/10 of a second on last lap.
