He's a decent & consistent racer in decent & consistent equipment. That's something he only had for 2 years before MWR unraveled. He'll do fine in the #14 Ford next year. His consistency and tendency to do what he did Sunday night show he's the prime heir to Tony's seat.

 

Doesn't excuse dump and run tactics.

 

Didn't see that as a dump and run, Almirola ran him tight into the turn and got loose, knocked bowyer into the wall, bowyer turned him after that, thought it was eye for an eye.

 

Yeah, but ive seen bowyer dump guys before for no reason

 

I'm so confused right now. What is being discussed?

 

Remember when he dumped himself at Richmond, ruining MWR and revealing the Chase for the farce it is? That's his greatest achievement, IMO

 

Go back to most wins...

So Newman got docked 15 points today for failing post race laser spec after Sunday's race, drops him from 7 points to 22 points behind McMurray for the last spot in the chase field. Larson also failed but he has a win so no care.

 

if it wasn't so hot and humid I would consider going to the race tomorrow.

 

Just tuned in on NASCAR.com. Chase was making the outside work on that restart until Jeff Gordon got into him which led to a cut tire. That might be Chase's Chase hopes right there.

Stewart took questions from reporters and defended his actions.
"It was a stressful night for (Newman), he was trying to make the Chase,'' said Stewart, who finished 33rd. "But if you run into me three times you're not going to get a free pass. It was the third time he had driven into me during the night. How many times does a guy get a free pass until you've had enough of it? He's got to do his part racing for a championship and trying to get in there and if you're going to run in there.
"I went into (Turn) 1 and he dive-bombs there and I'm already coming down. It's not like I was trying to squeeze him into the infield or something. Ryan and I have been good friends I wouldn't do that to him.
"But three times is two more times than I normally let someone run into me."

 

Yea, blah blah blah Stewart. At least he owned up to it this time unlike last week.
