He's in the Hendricks camp, they made a mistake letting Brad out, they won't do that with Bowman. I think he will be in the 5 when that contract is up.

I haven't heard, if they did that was dumb. I'm sure there is a plan for him. Like maybe if Jr. doesn't race again, who knows.

Rookie of the year contender Brian Scott announced he is "retiring" at season's end. I wonder what happens to Petty's #44. Did they have a charter for that team? I'm sure it'd be a hot ticket to sell that charter. Wood Brothers and Gibbs/FRR are in the market.

Khane is signed through 2018. Farmers Insurance is signed through 2017 to sponsor 1/3 of the races. Word is Farmers Insurance is not happy playing second fiddle to Nationwide Insurance at Hendrick, so they could bail for a better deal elsewhere. Imagine having competing brands on your team's cars.

i think they'll bail out because jr makes more $$$ and kahne has a lack of success even with JR sitting out...

The fact he is announcing his "retirement" in his rookie year is like me announcing mine after teaching school for one year. You "retire" from a career, not a hobby funded by daddy's dime.

He doesn't have a ride for '17 in any of the top 3 series. Dude just scored the pole at Pheonix, has had some great runs in the 88 car, honestly comparable to Jr's performance. I don't care where he winds up in '17, but he's made a fan out of me. He had a development driver deal with Penske 5 years ago. He won 2 poles in his rookie Nationwide season. He's driven junk in Cup up to this point. He drove a lot of junk in Xfinity too. With Cup drivers scaling back in Xfinity next year, he could be a contender if he can land a full time ride. Unfortunately, there's no room in Jr's stable. I think one hot Xfinity season would definitely raise his value among potential Cup teams & sponsors. Unlike other moneyed young hot shots (see NASCAR's potential almighty savior Chase Elliott), he's been able to quietly run the learning curve in lots of equipment. He has the potential to have a career arc similiar to Harvick and Dale Jarrett if he can land a good deal for more than one season.

I think after that pole he will get a ride somewhere. Anyone else feel terrible for Byron?

6wins, dominated the season and no championship.... This is why the chase sucks... Need to just have the top 16 and then for the last races (sprint cup it'd be last 10) battle for most wins/points to determine champion.

Sadler made it to the final round but minus two lug nuts. Will be interesting how this plays out Tuesday.

Also: word is Monster Energy Drink in final stages of securing title sponsorship.

Oh HELL YES. Alex Bowman just gave zero effs driving across Joey's nose on the first lap. 88 looked pretty trashy first couple of laps before tires & engine warmed up. It's amazing how HOT these cars get after 3-4 laps.

See, I thought you meant Kurt Busch, since I'd posted about Monster, and they're a sponsor of Kurt.

ya I know what you meant. I did like Kyle's answer when asked if he would bump his teammates for a win...."absolutely"

And the racing gods doled out some AMAZING karma via Kyle Busch & Alex Bowman's restart and Kenseth's attempted chop block. Kenseth out of the Final 4 and Joey Logano is in. What splendid, splendid retribution. I am not a Joey fan, but I am a Penske & Ford fan. Heck of a run today for Alex Bowman finishing P6 and Blaney P9.

I do disagree with the last restart order... Kyle was in front when the lights came on....but at least he advanced... And yeah Kenseth had that coming for being a dick to Kyle... I had a feeling Bowman was going to bottle up the restart which he did.
