Small update. I bought and installed a crank sensor, swapped it in and re flashed to the 87 tune, there has not been a major change to my original complaints. I will say that from a stop the engine does seem harder to stall on the stock tune and on the 87 tune. The issues Im having in between 3-4k are still present, it might be ever so slightly less but I have not had a chance to get my laptop hooked up to it. Hopefully this weekend I can datalog and see if its actually any better.

Here's a counter proposal - OTTO only mode below 30 kmh, + lower DFCO injector cut-in to 800rpm?

Or maybe OTTO only and DFCO kill below 30.. hmmm

Honestly, I could care less about SPEED thresholds. I just want engine braking to be consistent and predictable any time I have the clutch out. That is almost never below 800-1000 RPM unless i'm in 1st coasting in a parking lot or down my driveway. IMHO engine braking is horrid on this truck. DEFCO doesn't help. When I let off the throttle I want the max engine braking available. If I don't want engine braking I will feather the throttle. I can't imagine that burns much more fuel for the limited amount of time I would be doing it.

really!!just trying to keep topic active and find some middle ground. considering ovtune has given very little feed back if any on the issue of revhang or defco and only a hand full of people like 4 or 5 are discussing it. i fear OV will ignore the issue

Talked with Matt via email today he said fedex didn’t run yesterday with an order of ODBII cables. They were supposed to drop them off today & he was going to drop them off at UPS tonight.

We'll have his attention soon enough! Just gotta get past the A/T 1.03 feeding frenzy and on to M/T tuning :)

    Misfires in between 3-4k.

Nope just the one, didnt make that large of a difference. He said he has an update coming with some changes to ignition timing that he thinks will help.

800rpm is too low, 1000 is probably the lowest you should really go as that gives about 250 rpm for the injectors to stabilize.

Yeah man I get you. My scenario is based on off road situations where you're descending a steep hill very slowly (4lo 1st gear) and slowing down. The truck will hold back "fairly" well until the RPM decreases to about 1300.. then the injectors fire back up and away you go.. gaaaaaah! Anyway, when I'm off road and crawling along over kinda rough stuff, I'm regularly just above idle in 4lo. The idle control programming will pull you along pretty well without stalling.

Yeah 800 was just a spitball guess on my part, no idea if it is practical at all.
When you say stabilize, do you mean a stable fuel flow after being offline?

Dang... glad I found your post... not glad to find out it takes more than a week, but glad I can stop worrying at this point. I had figured it would've been a same day email type thing. Everything had gone radio silence so I started worrying it wasn't going to happen at all and I got scammed. Thanks!

It’s not same day. Give it 72 hours then wait another 48 hours.
