Away on business til tomorrow evening. I can data log on Saturday. Truck has a several hundred miles on the tune, readiness is set on all monitors.

I definitely still have those hesitations, throttle tip in and out jerkiness, and cold open loop jerkiness.

glad i'm not the only one that noticed the throttle tip in weirdness. That's really my biggest annoyance. the hesitation thing is my second.

Well I’m having a hard time with TS.

I go to setup vim select and choose openport 2.0.

I then connect to vehicle but it won’t auto see it so I have to manually put in the make model etc but it only goes to 2017.

Once connected I see the trucks info but the option to configure the snapshot is greyed out.

    I’m obviously missing something here

I noticed this on tech stream.
Accelerator position Graf would show 1 to 5% and up .
But rpm would kick in at 4 to 5%
And jump as you stated 100 to 200 rpm

I loaded 1.03B this afternoon (after running 1.03C for just shy of 1000 miles)

I drove about 120 miles this morning and have done about 25 since flashing back to B. With 1.03C I was starting to think I forgot how to drive the MT, cuz most of my shifts felt pretty jerky no matter what I did. On the low end I was getting some what I’ll call flutters which i could feel at lower speeds but while cruising down the interstate I could also feel some thing. At first I thought it was just rough roads, but after a lot more miles it’s definitely the motor doing something weird.

Now that the snow and mud is gone here, the throttle response on 1.03B doesn’t bother me. I’m sure after some time you’d get use to it but a drastic change in the crap conditions made it quite the experience.

I’m gonna hang out on 1.03B for a while get some more miles on it now that the weather is better and report back. I was also seeing about 1-2 mpg loss with 1.03C over 1.03B under the same driving conditions and routes.

Glad to see people are doing data logging to get this sorted out, I’d partake if I didn’t have so much traveling to do the next couple weeks for work :bananadead:

Stupid question but what octane is required for this flash? I am a long way off from taking the plunge but when I went to the OV website all I see is comments about higher octane not 87. Not interested in higher octane or more power. Just a little transmission tuning especially with cruise control.

91 or 87 tunes available together at one price. this is the MT thread so the only shifting we talk about in here looks like this:burnrubber:

I just saw another post in OV tuning 3.5 and missed out on the manual. My goof. It was on my brain after being on their website yesterday so I saw the thread and posted without making sure I was in the right one.

Has anyone else noticed that the 91 octane tune removes the 3krpm power bump while the 87 still has it? The 91 tune has been much better for me but still has the surging between 2-3k rpm at light throttle. Decel is also still a bit abrupt.

To all my manual brethen, I have found the solution to the thing Toyota calls a key. One of the many side benefits of purchasing an OVTune. Quality is as good as OEM and does not feel cheap like the other replacement.
