This is how I felt going from 1.03B to 1.03C. I like how 1.03C wasn’t so touchy at lower speeds but felt like it lost power vs 1.03B.

Thank you guys for doing all this logging and testing for everyone else.

It can be argued that the feeling of lost power is placebo since it's not launching forward just by breathing on the throttle. For C, Mat didn't touch power.

Alright guys, the below quoted text is a copy of what I just emailed to @OVTune

"Alright sir, after my morning drive, all I have to report is that I experienced a single stutter. This was produced by cold start followed by immediately driving off. Under somewhat spirited acceleration within about a minute of driving off, I got a single stutter in 3rd gear at approximately 2500rpm. Other than this isolated incident, I did not experience any other issue, either previously reported by other users or new. Total length of the drive was about 20 mins covering 13 miles. Operating temp was achieved within the first couple miles of that.

I had the opportunity to get into 5th and 6th gear and found that I can still accelerate smoothly in these gears. It should be noted that I live in a very flat area. Not many hills.

My overall impression with the lower gears (1-3) that I've also shared with the Manual trans thread is that this map sort of puts me in mind of the saying "slow is smooth and smooth is fast". At first I perhaps thought there was a touch less power on tap, but the more I think of it I am not convinced of that as I continue to drive it and as I keep in mind that, unless I'm wrong, you've previously reported that the 87 maps don't touch on the power that is there and instead focus more on the application of the power available. At any rate, the incredible smoothness of this map more than balances that out, which is what put me in mind of the saying I quoted.

    04B12, 87 octane, 1.03C 000002T3"

I felt like it couldn’t hold speed on hills the same way with ANY amount of throttle in the 1800-2100 rpm range. I didn’t notice this at higher rpms.

Noted. Unfortunately I don't have reliable/easy access to hills where I live to help document/datalog that, and the one hill I do have access to is a very real mountain with a grade steep enough that attempting to climb it at 1800-2100 rpm would get me literally nowhere, no matter what map I run. Lol

Edit** a couple other smaller hills are still steep enough where it'd be the same or similar situation

I live in a flat desert.

I agree completely. I've been running 1.03B as it feels more responsive than 1.03C. But like you said, it is a bit more touchy, particularly in reverse with the crazy reverse gear in this truck. Still, I prefer B. Hopefully, we'll see B and C versions of the new revision.

Also, thank you to all the loggers!

Unfortunately I lost 1.03B and the only tune I have at the moment is 1.03C.

Thanks for that, every review helps.

With previous files on 1.03C 91, I've always had plenty of power on the highway. On flat ground, the truck would just keep pulling in 6th. I could also accelerate up all but the steepest of hills without downshifting (I run completely stock gearing/rims/tire size).
In my case I'm 100% positive that it's not a placebo or the smoothness masking power etc. I can't do the things I could before on the highway, or should I say the truck won't let me.
Anyway, I think things are going to spiral out of control in this thread if we keep surmising what the issue is back and forth. This will be especially true if someone comes in and only sees that last few pages without knowing the context of what's been happening since last weekend. We need Mat to look into this and chime in. I'm very confident this will be fixed.

Edit: The "B vs C" debate is already starting up again. How long until we hear "granny tune!". Let's wait for Mat pls.

I certainly do not want to appear like I'm discrediting your findings or anything like that. Like I said earlier this morning (in an edit, so you may have missed it), this is probably also an effect of you guys being on 91 maps while I run the 87. I'm simply not expecting to see huge power advancements on 87

I'd send you the file, but I don't think your truck is 04B12.

I am going to hold off sending the log to Matt unless he asks for it. In the meantime I will do some more driving and evaluation and probably another log drive tomorrow night after work or Saturday.
