This really is a simple tune to do,Matt has done all the hard work. All you need to do is download some files and install a couple programs on your laptop then plug it into your truck and run the programs. I am not a computer guy/techie by a long shot and I was able to do it myself with a little guidance from the guys here. I am sure that we would all be more than happy to help you out as well.

Quick question, your drive cycle for logging 1.03C 2T2 seems more specific than mine was. Were you asked to do "cruising at 2K" and "cruising at 2.5K @ 50 mph 4th gear" or was that just how yours turned out?

I logged those parameters since others were having issues with stutters/surging at 2K and 2.5K RPM. Not sure if it would be useful or not.

The following is the latest update/small review or note that I sent in to @OVTune this morning. 87oct 1.03C 2T3 continues to be a pleasurable experience, not that I expected anything less.

    "Good morning sir,

This morning I yet again had a very pleasant experience driving on this test tune. Following cold start, I let the truck idle for a mere minute before taking off and proceeding on my way. I did not experience any stuttering, hesitations, or any issues. Between this and observations of previous drives and other maps of yours, this further cements my conclusion that this map is an excellent step in the right direction and that the initial mileage learning phase on a new map is clearly crucial. Not to mention the opportunity to warm up even a little bit clearly makes a difference. Pretty standard for many different vehicles I think.

The power loss that has been reported on the 91 octane test maps is not being experienced on this map, and I don't expect to either since it's the 87 map.

    87oct, 1.03C 2T3."

I only have the 04B10 1.03C T2 91 Octane file just to let you know, and it's down in power in the upper gears on the highway (at least that's where I noticed the problem). Other than that it's an excellent file IMO.

There's a chance Mat may come out with another test file sometime soon, but I'm just guessing on that.

I can get it to you after work today, approx. 4 hrs from now.

If you're still interested, PM me your email address.

    Cheers

can someone send me the test file for the 18+? i emailed asking for it but no response yet. I drove 300 miles yesterday and the stuttering at random times was really annoying.

I'm pretty sure @Ruggybuggy has it.. I believe he was running the 87 Octane file.

Yes. Just keep in mind the different goals of the two different octane tunes. 87 is more of a focus on just drivability and application of power. The 91 map adds additional power on top of that.

Not trying to imply you WILL forget that difference, btw. Just mentioning it

Didn't want to be rude. I have just noticed it's just grown pretty common for people, mostly on FB and in the alpha thread, to suddenly swap from 91 to 87 and then trash the tune for not having the same amount of power. You end up just sitting there thinking...."why are you the way that you are?" Lol

Ugh, I went to fill up on premium and the price difference is huge so I'm looking at $60 per tank... I can drive an extra 4 miles out of Crook County but that will only save about $0.10 per gallon.

Mix the 89 and 93 and save $0.27 per gallon.

Damn, and I thought $0.60/gal difference was hard on the wallet.
