I trust no one. Especially on Tacomaworld lol

It’s probably all part of the plan to get us to go away so he gets the tune first!

Quite a few days ago, I sent 1.03C 2T3 to @Axxra and the last time I checked in with him, he said so far so good, and that he was gonna put more miles on it before posting in the threads about it. Wondering what his thoughts are, if he's having a great experience with it like me (although for the record, it's basically identical to the original 1.03C for me, for obvious reasons... @MOC221_ knows why...lol). Since he hasnt been trashing the map, I assume good things. Bodes well for the final map releases from Mat

So I finally get on and am reading through all these posts and I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that moto guy was using big words that don't really mean what he clearly thinks they mean. Or if he does know, well the context just wasn't entirely right...lol

No sign of Mat in any thread today - and this to me could be a good thing.

Or he just took some time off....... nah lol

I like to let people think, feel and believe whatever it is their hearts desire. You like God, cool. Buddah, I dig it. Flying spaghetti monster, where's my plate? Truth is an absolute defense and you have to realize that there is zero possibility of convincing someone of something if they don't want to believe it. When that guy decides the tune is for him, he will buy it.

Same goes for us "believers", except we know the truth and don't need convincing. While it may look like we are justifying a $700+ purchase for our trucks, the truth is we all willingly spent it to fix Toyota's mistake on a truck that we love.

    This is all true.

I have said many times though that a lot of skepticism and reluctance to spend the 7-800$ also stems from lack of education. It's most prevalent in the facebook groups, where you see the worst bits of misinformation and half truths, usually from stuff a friend told them, or things they assume.

I was immediately ready to get the tune once I read up on Mat's work and progress (purchased this past December with his holiday pricing) because I was already familiar with how the tuning process works, its advantages, and because I recognized the OrangeVirus name from the Mazdaspeed community. Mat wasn't a hotshot big name tuner in the community when I had my speed3, not by any means, but he was recognized on multiple occasions as a capable tuner with solid customer service practices.

Not everyone has a familiarity with what they're getting into, and that can make the idea of flashing the ECU a scary thought I would imagine, but unfortunately the misinformation these people see leads to stuff like swearing until blue in the face that a sprint booster does more than a tune. All you can do is educate and then let them walk their own path

I've tried, I'm not very good at it and people around me can see right though the BS. The same goes with lies, terrible at it so I don't even try.

I'm on the cheap stuff tonight. Jack and peach seltzer here. I wish my wallet could handle some single malt though.
