Hey guys. I feel like I know most of you since I've been reading this thread for about a month. Now that I purchased my 2018 TRD Pro last weekend I thought I'd create an account and say hello.

My initial thoughts with this truck (which I already love) are:

    1. It makes me feel like a noob with a stick
    2. It has no power below 3K rpms
    3. Off roading in 4hi is difficult due to no torque down low. I had to put in 4lo to have any control.
    4. Shifting from 1st to 2nd is never smooth. I feel like I always need to wind up 1st beyond 3K, but this makes for a rough shift into 2nd.

I've read so much of this thread I've forgotten the initial thoughts of everyone, or maybe it was a slow process for you all to get here today and no one has came from stock to current development.

Can you please convince me that I need this product please.

It sounds like you've already done that.

Honestly it kind of already sounds like you convinced yourself lol

Welcome btw. And your initial thoughts are pretty similar to my own. Used to drive no lower than 3k in the rpm band just to keep power on tap. Truck made me feel like a manual trans noob too, until I got used to it. Shifting wasn't really a terrible problem for me once I adjusted, but eh, people have different experiences.

Long story short, we all experienced things that we wanted improvements for, and now we have that. Drivability, application of power, power itself...

You're right. I was convinced well before buying the truck.

Are the results on the 2018 similar to the 16s and 17s? This seems like the very first thing I should do to this truck.

@commbubba19 and @JJ18ORDBSBMT are probably able to give a better idea of their experiences with the tune since they have 2018's. Overall, the main goals for the trucks are the same though, regardless of model year.

I took it as a sit down shut up and I will get this figured out if you all just leave me the fuck alone..... J/K. I could sense the frustration though especially after the comment about dealing with customs.

With 2T3, I was able to slowly increase RPM to 1K without my truck bucking like a rodeo bull, hold it there, and cruise around the block smoothly. There's minor surging, but that could be due to attempting to hold it at 1K. Tip in feels like it's between 1.03B and 1.03C.

It feels better than 2T2, throttle and power seems to have a more linear feel. 1.03B was instant on/off especially when letting go of the skinny pedal quickly.

I didn't have surging/stutters at 2.5K RPM with any of the tunes. Still do not have it. Damn I should have asked for this sooner. :frusty:

I'm impressed by what @OVTune has been able to achieve and accomplish with data logs from the MT guys.

Buy it, you won't regret it. Also, congrats on the truck.

I’ve been on TW all day then I leave for 2 hours and something exciting pops up. This is some bullshit!

This is a joke for all you people getting butthurt. I should probably add this disclaimer to all my posts from now on to make everyone happy.

after reading your complaints i would say buy this tune as fast as possible so you can enjoy every moment driving your truck like it should be. i have absolutely no complaints about power down low now. the driveability for me is pretty amazing. and the updates keep it improving.

I asked a couple of pages ago but it was lost in all the threads. Has anyone had a pucker moment when flashing their trucks? I was flashing the 103a 87 octane tune and and got a message to not turn off the ignition or ecu damage would occur. Asked if I wanted to retry flashing and got the same message after the second attempt. I decide to restart the flash program and turn of the anti virus and never turned of the ignition. Tried to flash the tune again and it worked. Anyone else have similar issues?

I had an unsuccessful moment and saw it was cause the key wasn’t turned to the “on” position but rather one position forward just to have the radio on.

@Ruggybuggy I have been in this thread for months and I have not seen anyone share a similar experience that did not involve an antivirus problem. IIRC the flash is "idiot proof" in other words either it succeeds or it fails and you can't brick your ecu,so the message you saw is a new one to me.

2018 tune is not bad to begin with. The 103b’s throttle is aggressive. 103c is a little more mellow.

103c test tune is an improvement but I need something closer to the b tune.

@Ruggybuggy can add feedback as well for 2018
