2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

I’ve done this drive about 100x and never averaged over 20-21. More than happy with the test tune. I’ve gone 250 miles on slightly over half a tank




Update: 21 mpg on the return trip into a 5-10 mph headwind. Sitting at 325 miles with a sliver under 1/4 tank left. Not too shabby.

You guys with your small tires suck. I'm happy seeing 16 mpg on 35's with 4.88's on the tune.

 

Yea there's a reason I haven't gone to larger tires. Currently running 265/70/16 AT3W and very happy so far. Might go up to a 75 tire but don't really have a reason to currently.

 

Sometimes I wish I had reasonably sized tires for the road trips to the good wheeling spots, but you just can't fit 4 35's in the bed with all the gear. Suffer I shall. I'm trying not to daily my truck, but I like driving it so much more than the other 2 vehicles so I keep driving it.

 

My truck goes everywhere. At one point I was doing 1,000+ miles a week of travel so I pretty much was living in it. I've done a couple days of driving that were 500-1000 miles and getting 15 mpg would have really sucked. I've been trying to not go crazy to wreck my fuel economy. We'll see how much longer that lasts lol

If the tacoma had a larger than 21 gallon tank, I wouldn't worry so much about fuel economy but I already feel like I'm getting fuel all the time.

 

I use gas quick around town. She doesn't like the stop and go shit. I keep driving her though because of all the South Florida ass bags that can't drive. They tend to pay attention a little more when I'm in front of, behind, or next to them because of the armor on the truck. They don't want to hit me.

 

How’s this? Cruising at 55-65 mph. 91 e0 on 1.03 2T3

55-65 mph I'm getting right around 18mpg as long as I'm not in cruise control. That shit takes 2mpg off.

No ...... should be tomorrow. Some AT guys are getting an advanced look for testing.

 

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever figure out the registration code issue? I can't get past it. I'm sure it's packed in this thread somewhere, and I've tried the search function, but still no luck.

Edit: This would be regarding techstream registration.

 

@mZiggy @MOC221_ they have a chat log that helps walk you through it. Gonna have to wait til one of them wakes up.

What screen is showing for the registration code? is it the one asking for dealer address ect?

 

No, not the one asking for dealer info or any of that. The actual software registration code. I know there's a txt file that camecwith the software download with the key code, but it doesn't work when I copy and paste it in the box.

 

I am no help then,I recall others having that problem but don't know the answer.
