I need to be able to feel what I'm doing. Don't want a "race truck"

The problem is the situations where youre likely to use 4lo, you NEED it to work right. I wouldnt use 4lo unless I am towing a boat up a boat ramp, or climbing the most ridiculous rock faces or hill climbs, all of which would be somewhere between perilous and straight up death sentence if you can't predict what the throttle is about to do

If that were to happen, Toyota would have to prove that the TUNE was a direct cause of the engine failure before they can deny warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act should at least provide some consumer protection. There is a lot of what ifs scenario and assumptions that can only get worse and does not provide anything substantial to this thread.

If someone is worried that this tune "could" potentially cause warranty issue down the road, they can wait until their warranty expires before purchasing it.

I've only used 4l a couple times. I've yet to seriously use it. Just messing around usually to make sure it works.

Yeah I guess.. I'd have to argue about the "most ppl" part. We don't have big old deserts/dunes around here. Every time I'm off road I'm in 4lo for some part of the trip. No choice, my truck would be beat to hell otherwise lol.

Rocks, mud, big ol ruts n stuff. Awww yeah. Nothing like mud slingin

I use 4lo alot in my truck since it not my DD and purpose built for crawling. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a crawl box from MarlinCrawler too.

I wasn't saying that you or anyone who says something similar is wrong. You're absolutely right. But I do not think that someone who infrequently uses 4lo (most people) will care at all, or if they do, they chalk it up to being a quirk of the truck and then never think about it again until the next time they use 4lo, which may be a very long time from then.

Not hard to imagine how that would go. Customer changed the very parameters around which the motor normally operated, and then the motor blew up. It really doesn't even need further explanation at that point.

On the other hand, I have the tune and if my 3.5 blows up im going LS swap so it really doesnt matter to me, it just really frustrated me when Id push the gas and the truck would bog or jerk back and forth as the clutch tries to engage

I use 4lo all the time for hill climbs, sand, rescues because of people who like to take their 2wd f250 into the soft stuff, people who don't air down...lol

Also, going slow in 2wd 1st gear (stop and go traffic) was not pleasant with the jerky throttle. It's a whole different animal on the test tune IMO, much better.

    Again, just my truck/experience.

Hmm, missed this earlier. I'm gonna have to give a go soon. I wonder how much of that was your lower gearing helping out.. hmm again.

great minds still thinking alike. i treat my equipment with respect & consideration but that shit is meant to be run hard regardless of the tune details.

Highway power does not apply to me. No matter what it sucks since I'm on 35's and fully armored and loaded with gear. It's not bad, but I'm also not accelerating much uphill either.

It was definitely different than it was on 1.03b or c. Before the test tune, the truck would not hold once the RPMs dropped below 1300ish.
