Well my MPGs are down :(

BECAUSE I CAN'T STOP HAMMERING IT :burnrubber:

Lol, 3 deg C this morning and no weirdness noted on 1.04A 91 while driving cold and during warmup.

When I flashed yesterday my truck was still hot and it was 18 deg C.

The tune will allow you to drive this truck pretty much the way you've always driven a manual. I had to learn a fucked up method when I was on the stock tune, now it just feels natural again.. more enjoyable, much less of a chore.

Throttle by wire , rev hang and DFCO are all enemy's of the MT .

But I was shocked to see that the throttle alone was 50% of the problem.

This tune greatly improves throttle by cable feel.

Doesn't matter what I think as it's just an opinion, everyone's experiences/expectations are a bit different. When Mat starts his custom tuning service, I will ask for a VERY slight change to throttle tip in. This is not a complaint, I just prefer that first little bit of skinny pedal to be just a hair less sensitive for off road purposes. If it's not doable without affecting something else, I'll stick with it the way it is!

IMO, 1.04A 91 is a very very good file. It got rid of all the weirdness in my 04B10 red headed stepchild truck, added a nice bump in low end/midrange torque that you can actually use, and fixed the throttle. It's a really nice balance of power and driveability.

The other stuff is kinda minor to me now, but after all is said and done and we see the TwinTacoboost Pro take flight, I'd like to see what a "No Atkinson" style tune would do for this truck (for shits and giggles).

I don't use the term "OTTO only" any more because some ppl seem to loose their marbles when we talk about that. Don't know why exactly.

One thing that is very apparent on this file (same way on 1.03B/C) is the change to the overall torque curve, not just low end/mid range. If you look at the A/T dyno results closely, you'll see that torque keeps building well past 4600 (stock peak). On the highway you can really feel this in 5th/6th, especially once you pass through ~3000 RPM - it keeps pulling harder.

    I'm happy!

They usually bring up gas mileage when they begin losing their marbles. They need to be given Atkinson only. Or better yet, trade in their truck lol

What RPM range are you engine braking in? Is it from highway speeds? If you are engine braking from highway speeds, it's gonna be your gearing that is the culprit. The are so many changes in the dynamics of how things are operating with the tune that it could be a factor, but with all the weight, I can almost guarantee it's the gearing. Have you tried in 4Lo downhill with no brakes, just engine? That is where you will be able to make the best comparison.

    Mornin' all.

I flashed last night (b12), but didn't have a chance to try it until the drive to work this morning.
I'm coming from the 1.03C test tune.

I won't repeat what everyone else has said. I will say that my issue with the delay after releasing the clutch when shifting into second gear has been reduced, possibly due to the slightly better throttle response. I think I'd have to work with Mat personally to eliminate the rest.

Other than that, traffic sucked, so I couldn't do any good pulls to gauge performance.

This is a tune that I could forget I installed, which is a good thing.

Just flashed 1.04A 91oct. Taking the dogs to the lake tomorrow, about an hour and a half drive to get there, and then plenty of sandy trails to follow around out there, so I think I'll have a good idea of what I think of the tune overall by the time I get there and back. I'm sure it's as great as the previous maps though

It's at higher RPMs, in town driving. 45 and less MPH.

It's not the gearing because I notice a difference between the stock tune and 1.03C/1.04A without any other changes.

I'll flash the 87 tune as soon as Matt posts it today. Then I'll have about 1500 miles on it by Monday. Then after that I'll have 1500+ miles towing. Excited to see the data and how this new revision performs.

Nope, nope, nope... Not a good test. The added weight of the dogs means you will need a custom tune.

hey all, i've tried flashing this more than 20 times already and i get Unsuccessful every try. and yes i've done all the things we know to do. any other suggestions? last flash with 1.03C it took me over 10 times but i'm wondering what's going on now... i'm seriously about 30 times already. i can get to Entering Programming mode about 1 of 5 tries but it stops there. @OVTune

Have you tried the newest version of PCM? Not sure if that'll help but might be worth a shot.

I'm still using the original one from when I flashed 1.03 and it worked on the first time with no issues for me.
