1.03 tested for 04B11 ECU (93 octane in the tank)

220 miles on it since file received last night.

I am happy. Big difference over the previous files.

During the testing, I was doing some WOT pulls and actually chirped my 35's shifting into 2nd at 5k RPMs. Never had that happen before in this truck with the stock 4.30's.

On the highway today, 5th and 6th are much better than they were with 1.02c. I could accelerate from 70mph at 2100 RPMs in 6th to 80mph without having to downshift. Downshifting to 5th allowed me to pull all the way to 90mph with ease whereas before with 1.02c, the truck didn't really want to do it.

Idle is super smooth, throttle response is outstanding, fuel economy dropped maybe 1.5mpg from 1.02c but who cares if the truck is pulling like it should.

    Thanks for the details.

I am very much liking what you're saying.

How does the engine braking feel?

On the MPGs, where are you compared to stock?

Stock MPG's were between 17 and 18 on the highway, once I went 33's MPGs dropped to 16 on the highway, with the 35's before the tune I was getting around 14.5. With the tune (1.02c I have been averaging 17 on the highway and today I averaged 15.5 but that could have been due to ridiculous headwinds. (I stick to 75 max on the highway due to full armor and RTT)

Not bad, although it has never been bad with the way I drive. I don't run the RPM's up high very often. The rev hang is not a factor if you let off the skinny pedal 1/2 sec before you introduce the clutch.

Engine braking was great. Didn't seem to die off at 1500 RPM's like before.

Rev hang is not addressed yet, but Mat is working on it. It's gonna get done at some point unless there's a brick wall he's not aware of.

i have been testing 2 versions of 1.03, got the latest last night and have put about 60mi so far.

the difference from 1.02 (AT ported) is huge in every way. surprisingly, the difference in power from light throttle use is massive even from yesterday's 1.03... Mat is working it well and making very real world significant changes. here's the main things i notice so far:
    - upshifting just grabs and goes with the next gear up... you will really notice the improvement here how effortless the power is when upshifting.
    - general torque is filled out from above idle on up to about 2500 and is nice and steady. very noticeable when commuting with light throttle use.
    - enough torque to chug up hills in a higher gear than you used last week. no doubt.
    - haven't hit it today like last night, but i was surprised that full throttle 6k+ was significantly more crazy than before. it was just screaming. who's that one guy who keeps asking for his 300hp Camry tune? I'd be willing to wager that's about done. lol @Kamille.bidan
    - VVT comes on more smoothly and earlier. it does come on strong at times but i think there's something relating to load or last map or something, because it seems to snap on harder when you come from low rpm like out of a slow corner. not 100% sure but getting that smoothed out will be icing on top and probably one of the trickiest things to iron out in this tune I'm guessing.
    - did not eval rev hang
    - did not eval DFCO
    - did not use 4lo

i evaluated the tune because I've been clean running with no codes since the alpha, so I've been testing for predictable driveability, safe throttle, etc. this feels solid on the MT so expect your files soon y'all. worth the wait? lol. be glad you got the MT!

Thanks again. So, pretty much stock MPGs. That works for me.

    Excellent. Thanks!

    Great info!

    Gawd! No moar whiners. Haha!

Just a suggestion, I wonder if the first post could include these evals for future use and updates? Mat's technical details are great, but owner results are just as important to me.

I tested one version last night for 04B10 trucks, smooth and powerful. Pretty much everything he said^^^^^
There's still that "snap" at about 3500 when you're on it, but not as noticeable as stock.
Throttle on my test version seemed very responsive and also LINEAR. One little thing that's been the same on pretty much every tune - throttle response is sharp when clutch in/not moving, but is dulled a bit when you are clutch out and in neutral and when you're blipping for a downshift. It's a small difference, but still waaaay better than stock.

Also, even the exhaust note is different on this tune - more throaty? Yep

YES! I have the MBRP dumped before the axle and it is definitely deeper.

In my amateur-hour opinion, I "think" that throaty note is related to the VVTi getting in the action? If so, that is more good news.

That would be my guess.. also Mat said he was doing something with ignition as well.

I mean, like ST.Germain said... you can just barely crack the throttle and move up through the gears with ease.. effortless.

I'd be curious what mine would do on a dyno on a good day with the stars aligning and all that. end of the day that only helps sell more kits, so good luck to Mat for that. what i wanted I've now got. my hardware is running right finally and it's the deal.

now I'm all kinds of curious about his future plans for the platform.

Yeah man, you're right about that. Unfortunately, some ppl just look at peak numbers. I'd have to say by the feel of it though, that the torque curve has been filled in A LOT. It's never really been about extra power for me, driveability was and is priority one. This thing really hauls ass nicely though, not sure I could part with the extra power lol.

Welp, it's been a long wait. Watching the auto trans feeding frenzy and getting the table scraps in the form of ported auto tunes.
5 months brothers, and the dedicated M/T tune of awesomeness is right around the corner.
Mat has come through for us, big time... and this is just the beginning
Hats off @OVTune , excellent work.

Thanks everyone :) and thank you for being patient through all of this. I really think everyone will enjoy the new 1.03 release for MT. It really changes the dynamic of how the truck drives and responds.
