Have any of you guys been experiencing the stutters/ misfires in 5th and 6th gear around 2-2500rpm? Any time I breath into the throttle and load the engine, whether on a hill or anything really that loads it up, I will get the misfires. It starts to clean itself up as rpm increases, but the initial 5 seconds of load are crap. Also smell of fuel in the cats, like super rich. Has the 1.03 improved this for you? None of the AT ports cleaned that up for me and I'm really hoping the MT remaps help it out. Most annoying thing on my list.

    None here...

IIRC correctly, Mat said he was correcting AF ratio in this tune, but that may be focused around WOT.

Yeah my problems are all partial throttle. If I go WOT, it doesn't really seem to make any difference in power delivery lol, but it does seem to mute the stutters/misfires. Funny how some trucks do it on stock tune and some don't. If it isn't a fuel or timing issue it is prob some switch over on valve timing or injection type.

Definitely would love to know why some trucks do this on certain tunes and some don't... Stock I had the stutters on 87, but rarely on 93 octane but they did still happen. 1.01b never experienced a stutter - ever. 1.02b stuttered similar to 87 on stock (even though I was running premium), 1.02c no stutters but the shifting stuff still didn't feel right for my truck personally over time. I'm an AT posing in the M/T thread bc you guys have your day and this is fun to watch but we do have the same engines and the stutters are so sporadic and irregular depending on what day your truck was mfg apparently....

It's Toyotas stock ignition logic, which we aim to rewrite entirely

Sound extremely promising, and as you've mentioned before is likely the culprit of the random misfires that should NOT be happening as consistently as they do in these trucks under load.... Will be interested to see how this plays out and thank you for making the investment back into the R&D vehicle to make this happen for us.

Mine only does that when I am running a cold air intake. I have both a k&n Black hawk and a trd. It more pronounced then but only happens when I lug the engine. It's not noticeable with the factory intake. But other then that no stutters. Just odd power surges every once in a blue moon that is probably ignition related.

I don't mean to go too far off topic, but I was distracted for a week. I saw mention of a "2-Lo" mode. Is that a thing and where was it mentioned? Is it even feasible? I would love it for the sole purpose of backing up my fully loaded trailer into my driveway.

I'm on 04B10 W/test tune, not the final release of 1.03.

So far so good, happy camper here :)

Can't wait to drive on the actual 1.03 release, I suspect there will be a coupla options and their 87 Octane counterparts!
