How many generations do you guys think will pass before the USA goes to metric, dropping the queen's foot? I enjoy my half liters of Franziskaner
I'd guess another 75 yrs. My dad said his generation really didn't know much of it growing up, I've seen 1 Gal is equal to 3.8 liters ever since I could stand and piss lol

What would we call our 1/2, or 3/4 ton trucks then?
What about our wheels? 15", 16", 17" etc...?
Will our beer glasses still be considered 1/2 full/empty or do we have to get all metric on that too?

The truck sizes are now loony, beaver and moose.

Your beer glass should always be full. If you run out, you better go to a bar with better service

Something I've always wondered is what size ratchets does the rest of the world use? Because when I buy a metric ratchet set it still comes 3/8"
But seriously... I know 13mm is daaaamn close to 1/2", so I'm sure they call it the '13mil ratchet', but what about the 1/4" etc?

9.8 moose knuckles per 100 goose farts (that's good, BTW).

Canada goose, of course. Those bastards are nasty!

And before we were Canadians burning stuff, we were the dastardly British burning stuff ;). If this post seems cryptic, you live under a rock.

You know there's such a thing as a metric tonne right lol?
1000Kg.. OMG that base ten bullshit again (it's so hard to figure out :annoyed:)

    Fractions aren't metric!

Yeah that is funny eh... imperial size drive for metric sockets lol.

There are other things that haven't changed either - especially WRT building supplies and the like. A 2 X 4 is still a 2 X 4, a 4 X 8 sheet of plywood/drywall is still a 4 X 8 sheet. I never hear anyone talking about 3.8 liters of paint.. still a gallon (although the metric markings are clearly on the can).

When you put air in your tires, it's still PSI that's widely used/understood. And when you buy tires/wheels, the rim size is still in inches (both diameter and width for the rim), although the tire width is mm and the aspect ratio is based on that measurement

Anyway, base ten is still way easier and more logical for most things. You get used to it.

Edit: Oh and there's no such thing as a different sized liter in Canada as opposed to the rest of the world that uses metric. Your gallon is SMALLER, 'muricans!

In case anyone missed it, on p.964 in the Alpha Thread, Mat posted updates for how customer service will be working (for example, what email to use, where to look for help) and some other tidbits, like custom tuning ETA and even an option to buy the tactrix cable from the manufacturer in order to get a tune while he's still out of the country.

He's got two main posts on that page that cover the above and some extras. Just fyi

I'd love to see nominal sizing in metric. An American 2x4 could be called a 5x10, but in reality it's only 3.8cm x 8.9cm.

Now your taking his back and getting his side? And giving him your bet. Now I'm even more confused. Hold on lets not interrupt the metric/imperial talk

When a person drag races in 'Murica, it's usually labeled as 1/4 mile, or 1/8 mile. What do they call it in Canada?
