2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

I think we know by now, they don’t like to make things easier for anyone, themselves included lol

 

got 1.04R installed on 04B13. i was so satisfied with the TSB that i forgot about how flat this motor used to be pre-tune.

1.04R is great, such a great power bump and retains the smoothness from the TSB. the previous OV tunes had no smoothness like this, so it's great to have the motor running as it should AND a good tune on top. pretty happy with it, and super interested for what 1.05 may bring.

 

What file, 87 or 91?

 

91. never tried the 87.

 

For anyone wondering about 1.04R - I’m on my way to the 400 club

 

Makes me wonder what the 1.05 will be like 1.04r is solid.

 

Impressive!! I am lucky if I see 17mpg average per tank and 300 miles on a tankful..

 

Soooo I just got off the phone with Toyota Canada , I was asking about the update for the 2018 mt., after 5 min on hold she comes back and says to keep checking back an that it May be available soon,, so I said it’s available in the US but not here ,, she then proceeds to tell me , and I quote!!!! “ we use different parts to build Canadian trucks than the US does ,, we are different companies and not everything used are the same “ this is the first time in a very looooonnnggg time that I’ve been speechless ,, i don’t even,, wtf?

 

I stopped to get gas just to make sure it wasn’t lying to me. I only used 12.6 gallons

So just got home after my flash. I thought the tsb was good. Vanilla compared to the 1.04R. 1.04R has some low end grunt. Love it. Can’t wait to see what Mat has in store.

Ill be adding some thoughts after I get back from some errands this afternoon. I have about 30 miles on her right now. (1.04R 87 file)

 

Been out of the loop for some time now. What version are we up to and how do I get it? Did Mat ever setup an auto-update software that informs us when a new tune is available? I can't seem to keep up with this thread Thanks in advance.
