They should be different, since the initial release of 1.05 dropped prior to Mat going HAM on the tune and rewriting nearly all that code

I do hope that FO vs MA remains an option though, because I love my FO 91 map. I asked Mat both in the alpha thread and via zendesk about that and never got an answer from him though

obviously the maps are different. it's all Mat's talked about. i take the question as 'will the new 1.05 perform differently from the previous versions including the test 1.05 we've had?'

the maps are different, he's said so. regarding performing differently, of course they'll be different, but how so, how noticeable, better or worse, new issues?.... nobody knows yet.

    I second this.

I regeared after the armor because of the sluggishness due to added weight. Downside is that Rpms hit 3k at 84mph.

Sorry, but that seems odd as I am at 2,100 at 60 on stock gears. That's about 3k at 86 (85.7mph actually). Did you recalibrate your speed or use GPS? Honestly, just curious.

Weird. Now, I'm going to have to try 84 on the way home. Haha!

I know my speedo is right on what my phone GPS sez with stock tires.

    Nah. I believe you.

It is just interesting considering your mods and my stock setup.

Hey all serious question. I have a 19 Pro MT so I’m waiting on the 1.05 to drop. I live in Oregon which has full service gas stations. They are notorious for messing up, like pumping diesel tanks full of gasoline etc.

With the 91 octane tune will real damage happen if a tank of 87 ended up in it? Will the knock sensor still retard timing to compensate?

Honestly when I calculated it online before the regear I was skeptical too.

Here's where I punched in all gear ratios/tire sizes to calculate it.

Hello manual friends. My manual is toast... 16k miles, truck operates in reverse but no gears to go forward, transmission is just fighting itself like you hit a brick wall. No offroad abuse just logging roads. I can't wait to see what broke.

It sounds like your gearing is as close as you're gonna get. I had it in cruise at 85 and was turning right around 2,900. I was going to plug in Torque for a better number, but I saw this ahead:

Mat has said that this will cause quite a bit of knock b4 the ECM pulls enough timing to stop it. The 91 files are not set up to be friendly with a lower octane fuel. AS far as real damage, who knows.. I 'd make every effort to ensure it didn't happen though.
An instance like you describe is exactly why a lot of guys want the handheld tuner when it becomes available. If you get a tank of 87 by accident, no problem - just pull it out of the glovebox, hook er up and 3 minutes later you're golden.

Edit: BTW, someone on here is making stickers for the fuel door -" 91 Octane only" or something like that lol

Yep, the MA/FO files we got to play with pre-date the massive changes Mat made to the hard code.

AT this point, I'm more excited to get my accumulator delete kit installed.

    When 1.05 drops, it drops.

I'm from Oregon too... I watch them like a hawk when they are filling my truck to make sure they don't screw it up.

My buddy just had them start putting gas in his diesel truck. He stopped them pretty quick but they got about a gallon in there before he did.

Folks the struggle is real here in Oregon.
