If I couldn't have a tacoma, I'd goto the Ridgeline. Its the only other thing thats actually reliable.

At expo east there was a Ridgeline that had decent tires on it and didn't get stuck in the slop that lots of other stuff got stuck in. The ranger got stuck in the grass...

Is today the day? Serious question. I just read windows is dropping support for Win 7. This Libertarian is done with Satan gates pushing gun control and vaccines and all of his leftists ideology. I’m done funding Lenin’s grandson. I’m bailing over to Linux. Will this OV software work with Linux?

    Probably not, and no.

Also, Windows 10 is quite usable once you get rid of the metro apps disable Cortana, and all the telemetry. Gpedit.msc is your friend here.

I use Classic Shell and run the powershell commands to uninstall all built in apps. It ends up behaving very similarly to Win7 when I'm done. Just make sure you get Win10 Pro, not home. There are a lot of useful (necessary, gpedit.msc) features missing from the home version.

Negative. Windows 7 support "ends" in a year. Given how the end of XP support went, I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens with 7. There are too many large enterprises that haven't even started a migration yet.

"windows 10 is great once you disable all the garbage"

this is exactly why I still run windows 7 for everything.

Plus no matter how hard you try and disable things in windows 10, they magically reappear after updates - even when disabled via GPO. OneDrive among others are quite problematic in the enterprise. Windows 10 has caused more headaches with compatibility than anything else ever, including vista.

That, and iirc, Windows 10 allows Microsoft a backdoor to modify and delete files. Can't remember if it was true or not or to what extent, but it was supposed to be their way of helping control torrenting for known users?

Fair enough but unfortunately, sooner or later, you won't have a choice. If I could I would also switch to linux.

Sooner or later the desktop OS is going to be a thing of the past. Mobility and cross platform is the way of the future. I can continue to run legacy applications in windows 7 for quite some time.

Server 2008 & 2008r2 support is going away too but there's going to be companies stuck on that for a LONG time. I still see 2003 and 2000 running production and they've been EOL for a while. I've even seen NT4 still running production applications. Many manufacturing lines still rely on windows xp desktops.

MM hm, I've had to work on legacy systems running dos, 3.1, and CPM-86.

I sure hope that Ford did the Bronco right. The GF's ZJ is nearing the end of it's life and I'd love to get her into one purely for selfish reasons.

I hope some of these manufacturers start doing something right. Competition is a good thing.

Every new truck that comes out is a "tacoma killer" and none of them have accomplished anything other than selling more Tacomas lol the ranger is a joke - especially after seeing it in person.
