You guys that are tracking your trucks, is the Tacoma your only vehicle?

I cant imagine taking the Tacoma out on the track being that its the slowest, softest, highest, vehicle I own.

Yeah it's a lot more fun than you'd think. I was keeping up with all the other cars on track right up until the middle of the two straights! I guess I should be with the amount of work I've done on my suspension to get it to this point. I can confidently say that now there is NOTHING soft about my Tacoma though. Even taking hard corners at 60-70 mph there's just a hint of body roll but it's extremely controlled. More of a dip on one side of the front or the other depending on which way I'm going but honestly I can confidently say that Fox 2.5 shocks and COs and Total Chaos UCAs had the taco ready for the track!

EDIT: Michelin Premier LTX tires didn't hurt either :burnrubber:

Ha. No I am not modding my truck out of necessity sir. I have 3 bikes as well as a 96 Volvo 850R. Eventually, I want to take my Tacoma to the Baja so I am testing different high performance suspension components at high speed to be able to gauge their potential more effectively. Its not hard to make an E30 fast, low, and quick through corners because BMW made it that way. Making a taco fly is entirely different, and much more of a challenge, making it more rewarding and enjoyable for me to get to work my way through. I'll post video next time I get the chance to track her but I really wish I had that footage, there were some great moments where I finally saw the suspension work and got to see where the limits really are of this truck. Now it's just a matter of increasing the reliability and ability to hold close to it's limits without overheating the shocks since I've seen the capability is there.

Do I need to do anything ahead of time to prepare for this tune when it ships?

    well, still here.

V-Tec is kicking in hard at 3300 rpm's these days...

Tune seems.... odd after a couple thousand miles. Improvement over stock... but not really what I would like for a "drive by wire" feel. This is the 87 tune.

Milage is good though, still about stock.

Still hanging around too, patiently awaiting OV's next update for us. *cough... 04B10 1.03 is a test file.. *cough.
It works, sure. Is it better than stock? Yep. I'm concerned though, that working through this developmental "dead end" is a huge PITA for Mat and that our orphan status is going to be a long term saga (not unlike this post lol).
I'm not going to buy a 04B11/12 ECU or trade my truck BTW.
Before anyone jumps down my throat - the tune worked great at first, but has degraded over time on my truck (mushy throttle at times and more frequent stutters). I've already replaced my CKP.
