FOB is for manual. It's a modified Full OTTO version for us. Base and FOB applies to manual. All other versions are auto.

One thing I noticed when I did my test runs yesterday, you cannot launch this truck no matter how hard you try. Dead spot from stop,it bogs terribly, would be a pita/dangerous if you were stopped and needed to GTFO of something coming your way....

Disagree. You can launch it, but you'll be slipping the clutch way more than you'd like to

Yeah, I'll be the third wheel here and respectfully disagree about both? :D

I can't say that 8sec-ish 0 to 60 has bog or is slow and I don't feel that it takes much slip to do it.

I'm still not sure if I want to post the vids publicly. ;)

And, I didn't get a chance to try some while I was on FOB 87.

I tried slipping it a bunch and still same results, instant bog. FWIW I used to do some bracket racing back in the day in the SW division. I had an 83 Z28 w/5 speed and was pretty good in the lights...

I know it is not a race car but the flat/dead spot is how can I say it...BAD. Say you are sitting at a light and see someone careening out of control towards you. You hit the gas and dump the clutch to get out of the way and it bogs as the truck starts moving,it is a good two, three seconds before the engine catches up to the throttle demand.

It was real bad on the stock tune on my truck, better but still existed to an extent on the tunes. I haven't tried yet with FOB since its been slick and crappy around here.

I had it on the stock tune as well under "normal" driving conditions. Dead spot/bog/lag just off idle as you were pulling away from a stop under light/moderate acceleration. It was greatly improved with 1.03 IIRC and that was the one everyone said was too aggressive but IMHO was the best.
It may be because my truck is heavy and likes the extra grunt/aggressive tip in... The other version that seemed to do well was the original 1.04 FO? (pre TSB FO tune), my truck really liked that one.

Ok gentleman and @MOC221 I beleave I found an issue related to the sporadic numb throttle.

Try snapping the throttle while moving then snap it again then BOOM It goes numb.
It’s as if Toyota gives you 1 shot to get it right:confused:
I did not notice this happen yet over 2700rpm but will be testing more.
This seems to be related to the lower revhang

Same here. Havent really noticed or paid attention. I know bog *from a stop* was a serious issue for me stock. From even the first tune versions it was fixed.

Sounds very similar to fly-by-wire throttle inputs on some aircraft. If you retard the throttle and then immediately advance throttles again, there’s a lag of sorts for the computer to run the math and tell the engines what to do.

Just tested it on my drive home and it is exactly what I mentioned above. It’s a computer issue.

This should help Matt with finding the issue if it can be logged for him.

Because there’s no mechanical linkage between the pedal and TB, there’s always going to be input lag anytime there’s a computer between the two. No way around it when sudden changes are applied. We complain about it to our aircraft manufacturer all the time but it’s something that you have to adapt to.

The problem is the response is there when your not moving clutch disengaged.
Once your moving as slow as 2mph it goes numb(clutch disengaged) this is one problem.
The other issue is when reving to only 2700 rpm your revs are droping and you hit the throttle the response is there again .but touch the throttle quickly and it goes numb!!
