Welcome to the party, you could also do the dremel method to the accumulator and save a couple bucks. I did it myself on my lunch hour, less than an hour start to finish....

It sounds like the FOB tune makes the Tacoma feel more like a truck...as opposed to...something like a Honda S2000 requiring 4K + RPMs for any power (oh how I miss that stupid little car...). Think I might wait until after the terrible drive through Kansas where there is no need for more power down low, but thanks to all for your awesome input!

Shit! I forgot about needing the cable for the ECU ID (Carista will tell you if you have that), which you don't really need until the kit arrives. But, you can send in your computer's System ID as soon as you order. That will get you the REG file in advance, esp as it takes a few days for OVT to get it from his vendor in the UK.

That method is definitely stealth. @RedBeard1 's method, which I used, is the exact opposite. Esp my safety wire.

Just make sure whatever laptop you use is fully hydrated with distilled water before attempting the tune.

Wait. I thought 87 fob and 87 base were the same tunes in lower rpms? Am I wrong?

Happen to have a picture of the accumulator before taking the Dremel to it? I've tried to track one down, but can't seem to find one.

I could make some snarky remark about the search function, but I'm not that guy and this isn't the dev thread. TBH, I DID know just where to look though :)

No I don't,just the picture of the dremeled one in this thread the dremeled area is just machined flat between the two holes https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mt-accumulator-delete-mod-adm-and-bs-thread.568303/

Looks like MOC221 has it covered it is just missing the flat diaphram disc in the picture.

    Hahahaha!

Just read the instructions a couple times on ovtuned.com.

You will be able to ID your ECU and be rolling with the new tune in a half hour max.

    Post up any questions!
