I think 2 separate times while I was in California I tried to get a MT on the dyno and the schedule never worked out. I decided a long while ago I'm going to buy a MT truck, because that's the only way to get testing done the way I need it done. I understand we are slow, and that sucks. Yes the AT guys can be way too picky at times. From the way I see it though we are still working extremely fast for this platform. It's only 3 years old and we've been in the ECU 2 of those and from what I'm told will not be refreshed with a new engine until 2023. The 4.0 guys did not see a tuning solution become available until 14 years after the first 4.0 2nd gen version trucks were released. So while it may not happen now, we aren't time limited. I actually really enjoy the tacoma as a truck and plan to keep it until it falls apart. You can bet I'll still be tuning them 5 years from now.

Also the AT guys aren't just to blame. People see what we are doing on the Tacoma, and we get asked for the Tundra, 4Runner, FJ, etc. Everyone wants the tacoma tune pie.

While we have you here Mat, is there any chance another Beta is coming soon, and for other M/T ECUs?

Will the ability to change maps using the cruise control buttons become the only option for flashing maps? Or will we still retain the option to just flash one map and leave it at that? Some of us have no need or interest in switching around.

This has got to be one of my biggest gripes about this truck. Multiple times I've had to put it in 4 Low to make it up a hill (steep hill) after stopping. I've noticed it at times it'll get moving and I think it's going to go and then it just completely Falls flat on its face and dies. I have noticed turning traction control off has made it a little bit better.

Shhh don’t wake them. Just quietly release 04b13 and then we’ll return back to lurking in the shadows

We need an un-Like button. Sorry to hear that.

That happened to a friend last year. They're sharing custody and there is always a threat of the ex moving out of state, so everyone is on edge.

Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck!

After finally emerging from some tight times, I get where you are at. Looking at the bank account daily and counting days until payday (transfer day) is painful. Add the rest of it on top would have me going down the rabbit hole also.

Definitely hang out here for the fun. It's a good crew.

Planning and adaptation are key. Deadbeat exes don't help at all. Be sure to at least make some room for your own sanity and stress relief, even if it just a batting cage or hammering on a heavy bag.
