Thanks all for the replies. Don't all tar and feather me, but I'm not sure the ADM is for me. While I'm not in love with how the clutch feels, and I've experienced its different moods (have unexpectedly dumped it on several occasions), its lack of performance pales in comparison to the engine's, IMO. I'm not sure I'm enough of a purist to need what the mod offers, but maybe I don't know what I'm missing. How exactly does it change the feel of the clutch?

There's also the fact that I'm a little wrench-shy with this truck in particular. I vowed when I got it to not get involved with modding or wrenching on it like my previous vehicles, but the OVtune just seems like the right flavor for me.

the two go together. for any MT driver that appreciates MT driving it is for you whether you know it or not. you are already saying the clutch isn't great. you're right. now get it fixed. a decent mechanic can do this with a hard line instead of a flex line (some say it's preferred) for 2 hours of labor and a few bucks in parts.

the ADM shines when your wonky throttle is right, linear, with good response & power. that's when the ADM will really matter.

and that's why we're suggesting to do it while you wait on OV. sorry if this sounds like I'm twisting your arm about it. not the intention, just trying to share the infos.

    ^yup

it’s much more noticeable after tuning once you’ve actually got power delivery on the bottom end. You don’t realize how much fuckery it adds until it is gone. I wasn’t sure either but did it anyway and it’s a 100% must do mod

i actually think my value for the ADM would be low to zero with the original stock tune. after the motor started coming to life we all got excited since we finally had something to work with.

I will take a slightly different view. The ADM was huge for me on the stock tune. It added some consistency to the wildly inconsistent tune.

It is a matter of gaining some feel and getting direct action of the clutch, not an artificial delay.

You've actually partially answered your own question
There is also the delayed transition from when you have the pedal in, until it fully releases. the benefits grow from there. Jump on over to the thread and read the first few posts.

    Link?

Oh the ADM makes a whole word of difference on the stock time, just eliminating the dead clutch feel allows the truck to feel more like a truck.

I can't wait to finally get the ADM done at some point, so I can stop burning the shit out of my clutch driving up onto leveling blocks in camp.

You are certainly having some very weird issues. I am on my second tank with 1.05 FOB 87 and it runs even better now than the first tank.

Yeah but at least if I could work the stupid clutch while my head's out the window and the wheels need to climb those little blocks...I'm sure I'll need another clutch in about 5 camp grounds or so :D
