Quite a bit. Don't think I hung a tire the whole weekend. Rained on us the whole time, so not much opportunity for glamour shots...

not a must but they sure make life easier if you ever need them, especially if you are solo. A shovel is also a good tool to have a long.

maxtrax are spendy but the handful of times ive had to use them have made them well worth the price of admission. I have no doubt I'd have destroyed cheaper boards by now between the extreme temps or using them as a bridge.

    That is killer.

No problem. It lets me imagine the fun. Ha!

We tweaked a budget board bridging last year. Definitely look closely at the shape and designs if not going with MaxTrax. Materials aside, you want a deep board with no full cutouts for hand holds. That is just a point where it will start to bend. The solid perimeter of the MaxTrax is part of their good design.

Thanks for the replies on recovery gear fellas

    Now back to MT discussion...

About a Trac and E locker. I've used both, but haven't wheeled very hard yet. Locker got me out of deep mud whole once. I left ATRAC on last offroad park I went to. It did kick in couple times. It reminded me of the asymmetrical awd system on the wrx I had, but at low speeds of course

I thought about the Sport but meh, I really like the black accent all over the place, goes really well with the Voodoo Blue. It's nice to have all the OR stuff too, I don't wheel yet but I have the intention to one day.

maxtrax are made to flex without breaking. I’ve seen people use them as a jack base and mangle them. They still return to normal after. If you use 2+, you get plenty of strength for bridging or other things.

here’s what we did in Moab. Well worth the money.

I’ve used it a few times. The thing you’ve got to remember is you have to keep on the gas to let the system work. Instinctively, you’ll let off but then you aren’t letting it slip and find traction. Give it some gas, it’ll figure it out and away you go

*you need traction somewhere. If all wheels are free spinning, you are SOL

So just a 15-20 mile drive on FOB 93 with 285s and it definitely makes me feel a little more torque on the lower end of my gears. Idk if it’s just in my head but it sure feels real. MPGs are up ever so slightly as well. Wonder if this will continue on the highway?

Yup. You'll stay in 6th and still gain speed at a decent rate.

Getting the locker to work as a retrofit on Sports and such. I'm not sure if it can be tricked yet for ORs and Pros for 2Hi and 4Hi.

yeah 2/4H is what I was thinking he meant. The thread devoted to it was abandoned based on the challenges with tricking the ECU. adding a locker to a sport makes more sense. Unless its significantly cheaper, I would think it makes more sense to just buy an aftermarket one so you can use it whenever you want.
