I don't hold it there. Just tickle it. With the raised rev limit, the power falls of nicely where I don't find myself hitting it like I did stock.

That boost like feel of power/torque at 4500-5000 rpm. More like a 2 stroke with expansion chamber than a turbo. Is this the second injectors going up a notch?

    Maybe? :D

It brings me back to squid riders who like to cold start their bikes and wrap it off the limiters for 10sec. So, I like to use tickling or brushing in the way that if I feel the limiter, I'm already going for the clutch. Maybe two or three pulses max?

Stock, the motor was pulling hard at 6k. I was often surprised by the limiter as it felt like it wanted and needed more for 2nd gear. Now, none of that.

Doesn't matter. In fact Safeway 91 feels better than Shell 91. At least not worse.

Ah! That was what I meant in the other reply. Stock, it did feel like a 2stroke getting on the pipe or an old school turbo. For me, 1.05 lessened it a lot and the 2.0 Beta eliminated it. It was spooky linear on 2.0.

I'm super excited, but I'm also happy running the beta i'm on. It's all gravy from here. The VVTI bump was always very noticeable until I loaded the first 2.0 beta that i'm still on. It is much less pronounced than it has ever been and I like it a lot.

    Cool stuff
Chevron seemed to run well today, was looking to see if anyone had any bad experiences. With my high compression builds in the past I know some of my cars were picky on gas brands

My truck likes Sunoco fuel. Runs better and gets the best mileage on it. Shell is the second best and most common around me.

I don't even have the 6800 rev limit on FOB91, 04B40… even after a couple emails to Mat

I'm on the stock calibration currently, neither of the 1.05 FOB 04B41 files ran well on my truck (I've already posted what the problems were, so not rehashing that).

One observation - 04B13 was a better OEM calibration than this 04B41 is. IMO low end response is worse as is throttle delay. Still better than 04B10 though lol. It seems as though Toyota smoothed out things such as idle surge when the AC kicks in (it's really slow now, as compared to the kick you'd get before with earlier trucks). Just spitballing, but this "glassing" effect seems to ripple through the trucks response.

If 2.0 is as good or better than the latest beta (no first hand experience, just going by the 04B13 /04A71 guys are saying), I think we'll be golden.

Thanks to @tonered for his help, I'll be flashing to 2.0 Beta this morning....right after I fix the flat tire I just found...in the rain.

    You're welcome!

It sucks about the flat though. Hopefully it is repairable.

Weird, I thought stock 04B40 ran pretty well, FOB91 is alright, helps a bit in the low, but now I can't stop thinking about FOB93 since I tried it in the Big City. Holy moly that's one hell of a tune.

I agree with 35s it was pretty much a turd in the mountains in pa and hilly dirt roads are much more fun tuned. Alot less downshifts for me

Idk what size your running for tires. But tuned I can drop second at 65 haha it'll bounce redline at 72 and third falls right back into the power and pulls pretty hard. Don't be afraid to hit the limiter this motor handles abuse extremely well imo
