    Interesting.

The last one to hold any interest for me was the F430 non-F1. Of course for me, the F40 stands above them all. If only I was an internet billionaire, I'd DD the shit out of it.

One of my bucket list items / pipe dreams is to take a gated manual for a nice drive.

The only Ferrari in production I like is the Monza SP2

Maybe he's seen a thing or two, being an AT guy... :duel:

    Oooooh what colors?

A: you could be a billionaire, and if you're still a nobody, Ferrari won't sell you a car. You also can't buy used ones except through them.

B: unfortunately since Top Gear was cancelled years ago, it's highly doubtful any of us peasants will ever get to drive an F40.... But it's on everyone's bucket list.

C: all that being said, I've done autocross with an F-430.... Yew!

    :stayontopic:

Which uh, incidentally, had no noticeable rev hang.

A: There are no new F-cars that I would even approach them about. If I was going to get happy about a new super- or hyper- car, I really don't crave any of them from the big names.

B: Truer words were never said. TGT was fun, but OG TG was the best ever. A gated Gallardo, 355, 430, or whatever would be fine. I just want to feel it once.

Yes, but relatively, there are a lot of F40s. :D

    C: Wow!

No Rev Hang or funky DFCO on our past MTs either. :)

I partially agree. But, this century / millenium saw widespread 6MT use and even the use of 7MTs in mass production.

The automakers tried, but they and mostly the buyers failed to latch on.

Depending on how you count motorcycles, we bought three to six MTs this century and only one last century. :D

With Honda and Yamaha kicking out a lot of AT M/Cs, it might be valid to include them these days? :pout:

There’s a white and a cement OR at the same dealer here in town. Both look pretty well loaded. Found another quicksand OffRoad with just the base package in quad cities. There’s more around than I expected.

if there was an army green one, I’d be in trouble.

It must of been time to bolt together a batch of non-Pro MTs?

I just counted, there’s 52 2020 non pro MTs within 300 miles. I’ve never seen that many. I also looked at the pix for most of them to make sure it actually is a MT

If anyone wants a MT, I guess now is your time.

I am tinkering now trying to notice the DCFO, and I actually don’t notice it at all....truck will take itself to the point of stalling even though OVTune guy said not to do it, I make my own rules.

rev hang a real fucking pain in the dick though, regardless of what that new guy said.

It would drive me nuts in stop n go traffic.

If you want to see it working, get out the Torque app and monitor fuel status. You'll see DFCO, closed loop, and open loop.

I think I remember feeling it towing up and down the god forsaken mountain ranges around here, fucking earth getting in the way of my engine breaking.

I was toying with rev hang today, think i have figured out a way to make it do it, to try and capture it on video. Now finding a safe way to video it.

I was able to duplicate rev hang in 1st 2nd and 3rd.

I had it in third gear, going to 4th , took forever to go from 2500 to 2000.

Anyway, it has to do with revving up to an rpm and letting off the throttle, then getting on the throttle again slightly, then shifting as normal. Clutch in and wait and wait.

So imagine you are going up an incline in second gear, you need to shift but also know that a curve is coming and shifting to third would bog and require another down shift. So instead of shifting to third you just let off the throttle and engine brake for the curve, then accelerate back out of the curve slightly, then shift. That shift will be where rev hang will happen most often, and dramatically at that.

I think rev hang and dfco are somehow related. Almost like the ecu is expecting you to engine brake again but you are actually not.
