The sale isn't going to affect when 2.0 releases.
I am working on it daily, but I am also working on other things. A lot of it having to do with 2.0. Setting up our new server, new server software, new flash manager, new flashing software update, etc.

The dyno tune you are seeing on our facebook page is planned months in advance. That's not even happening any time soon. We will likely be getting one of the vehicles on the dyno with a friend of mine some time in march or april. And actually go back and look at our blog posts, we posted about Dynamic force development a long time ago.

you guys may *think* 2.0 is not *that much* work, but in reality it's an insane amount of work.
    1. patching all roms, fixing issues, code, setting up features
    2. creating tunes for every octane, on every ECU ID
    3. creating tunes for dump tubes, catless dump tubes,
    4. creating tunes with gears for stock, catless, catted dump tubes. 4.88 and 5.29
    5. creating all of those files in both pcm and p5f format

So think of it like this>
    there are 15 ECU versions
    two exhaust versions
    two types of files
    two different gear types
    3 different octane types

Setting up all of these is roughly 700 files.

Like how everyone thought we up and left the Tacoma development to the side to do Tundra. Fact check, reality is we started the Tundra BEFORE we even tuned any 3rd gens.

There are only 4 active projects right now.
    1. Tacoma boost tuning
    2. Tacoma 2.0 tuning
    3. Tundra tuning
    4. our editing software.

There is no deadline on when 2.0 will be released. Initially I had it slated to release at the end of 2019, but I decided to go back and do some things differently in 2.0, which has extended the timeframe. Regardless of when 2.0 is finished, the Tacoma still gets 90% of our daily attention..

I really want 2.0 to be done. and make this whole process easier. Not answering the same questions, running into the same issues again and again and again. So it's quite a bit of work making everything new. (tunes, flash manager, instructions, flash software, etc) We may not release it for a month, or 6 months. The tune has to be as *perfect* as possible.

I understand your frustration, but again, the less he wears, the more likely we are to see that girthy carrot

You should install it. It’s a significant upgrade.

what’s the reasoning for not wanting to?

One I really don't want to go down that rabbit hole, saving for regear, and need the cash for new tires at the moment. It wasn't something I ever felt I needed, just kind of wanted. My girlfriend surprised me with it on Christmas but there is a few more things I could put that money towards for now.

You’ll get like half of what it costs back out of it if you resell it.

If you check the BST forum, they sell for $200-300.

I got the email but have not yet registered it so there should be no $300 registration fee included. I would have to expect more than $300 for a brand new setup.

Working in software industry I can relate. One thing we're lucky for is he has shipped some value with the beta being available. Would be nice to see the progress deployed, but if the refactoring he is going through is in an unusable state then I guess we'll all just have to wait it out.

Out of curiosity, does the assembly code have a framework for unit tests? Is your only option to do a full integration test on an actual vehicle?

Wrong, regardless of whether you registered it or installed it,the new owner will still have to pay OVTune for the License.

Wow. That makes zero sense to be honest and is pretty bullshit. The unit has not been registered to my vehicle yet. Like I said my GF bought it so unless she had to input my vehicle prior to buying it how is this unit any different from if you ordered right now direct from OVtune?

The tune is paid for it just has not been registered to a computer. Whoever buys it from @BigBeej will also need the order number from the original purchase.
