    Canada Eh!
While it's been a while since I learned about ODBII, I would venture to say "somewhat correct". A DTC is only ever generated in response to a problem. Could be from a series of misfires due to bad gas that is self correcting the next time you fill up, bad sensor, intermittent loose connecting somewhere etc. If you have your vehicle repaired typically all DTC's are cleared at the same time. If you haven't had your vehicle diagnosed and repaired after a DTC is generated than simply deleting the DTC is a bandaid solution as it will more than likely reappear at some point, plus you're removing some of the "clues" that a tech might find valuable when it comes time to repair the reason for the DTC.

Long story short, if clearing DTC's makes a different for you then there is probably a bigger problem going on. (or your tech was lazy and didn't delete them after repair).

My recommendation would be to check for codes with TechStream prior to blindly clearing. If you have any stored or active codes, write them down with whatever info is available i.e. time stamp ect.

Very true. But like I said, there are the deeper readiness codes associated with them. I am definitely not talking about performance, but just a clean slate for the tune to settle into.

Also in my rare experience with stored DTCs, I have noted the code before clearing. The problems did not go away immediately after clearing. I have done this to see if the problem was constant or intermittent.

Like you said though, if folks are going to take their car in to get fixed, clearing helps no one. And, clearing a code just before an emissions test is bad bananas also. You got to do a full drive cycle or it is just a waste of money.

After you get a couple miles on it you should try a 91 FOB version...

All around better, IMHO. I think I'll flash back to it till 2.0 comes out. I'm on a beta 2.0 now but need a reminder of fob file

Anyone have issues with this ? I think this is next on the mod list. Just worried what it does long term—any codes or issues. Seems like tons of people are using it.

Just want to see if anyone has had any codes or issues with the OV tune being run. Just want to see if anyone has had issues with it before I splurge on the tune. Also was going to regear later.

This is the internet, if there were issues the threads would be stacked at the top of the forum. The true testament of a product is how petty the bitching about it is lol

    Nope you’ll be fine.

the only people that have issues are the ones that can’t read and follow directions

You just used PCM flash and look for the file on your computer (like on the Desktop) when it prompts you.
