Well, Mat did promise he would sort us out. There is a 04B10 update coming with 1.03B, but I'm not sure if it's gonna include everything the rest of you get (especially ignition updates, which caused the problems we had).

It most certainly is great news. I was getting a little worried about it but am relieved that its 0B411. Can't wait to get the tune and go for a rip. Spec u exhaust is in with AFE intake and scoop plus throttle body. Even without the tune its way better than stock. Im sure with the tune its going to be rockin.:rockband::rockband:

It works without windows being activated (purchased). You just don’t get windows updates after the trial expires, which who cares about those anyway.

You could also join the insider program and run that.

So if your thinking of buying this tune for your new 2018, DON'T. It will not work on the '18. Before I purhased the tune Matt at OV said it would work and there would be no changes between the 17 and 18 trucks. Well there is and now I sit waiting for a solution. When I first contacted him he assured me that the tune would be ready in a couple of days. Didn' happen. When I contacted him a second time last week I was told he would have the tune ready by Friday and no later than Saturday morning. Well that didn't happen either. Now my emails are falling on deaf ears. He mentioned that he is extremely busy. All I wanted was a date when he could have the tune completed. How many of us would pay out $800 dollars to a company for a product that they have no idea when or if it will come with little customer contact? Contemplating getting PayPal involved and disputing the transaction

It would be helpful to all if you would indicate what truck you own... year and transmission type. I had thought that the truck Matt recently bought was a 2018 Automatic, and that the tune was working with it?

18 manual Sport with 3.5. It doesn't matter what 2018 Tacoma you have. The tune will not work a 2018 Tacoma because of changes in the ECU.

I only went to limp mode twice haha. Better the stock tune for sure but IMO not worth the cash
Welcome to my world. I've gone into limp mode twice with tunes for the early 04B10 and have been told over and over that a tune would be figured out eventually for it. Instead I have a test tune ported from the autos. But hey twin turbos are coming haha

P.S this is just my honest opinion. I know some folks love it and claim they have race trucks now.

I thought I would get a tune, any tune for $800. Really, stop complaining after dropping $800 bucks and receiving nothing.

    Just my Opinion....
And to be clear I was one of the FIRST if not the first to send Matt data from a Manual and to load a tune as a adopter. He has had ample time to figure out our ecu.....

you are on a 2017 Pro which means your ECU is almost certainly 04B12... lots of guys on here would love to have that. you are missing out if you're in a MT. seriously missing out.

coming from a MT 2017 Pro owner on 04B12. but i have no idea what I'm talking about.

Don't bother man, seriously. There are two guys on here that couldn't wait to put their oar in the water, they do nothing but constantly stir shit up. They haven't paid for a tune and by the looks of their comments, never will. That's fine. I better not see them around here when shit gets sorted, freaking out because they can't buy a sold out tune - cause I'll be calling them on their crap.

@Ruggybuggy on the other hand, has a legit beef. He paid $800 for a tune and got nothing in return. While I understand and support his complaint fully, the '18 version will come.

I also feel that Mat has too many irons in the fire right now and needs to focus on our trucks/hire more staff that can.

People need to remember that the 2018's just hit the lot. You could throw something out and say heres your tune but i think people would rather it be done right and not have issues.

There's been some issues with other releases and matt wants to make sure that doesn't happen again (with all tunes). Sure people don't like waiting, but i'll take waiting over having an unreliable truck.

Yep... but, Mat shouldn't have promised an '18 tune unless he was 100% sure he could deliver. 2018 tunes shouldn't even be on the website IMO (it's down right now, I know).

Just look at the limp mode comments from us 04B10 owners - you can be sure Mat doesn't want that to happen again. What ppl might not understand about that though, is the truck used on the dyno for testing 1.03 M/T was NOT 04B10. We also didn't have major issues with any tune release before 1.03 either. For some reason, 04B10 ECUs don't "like" certain changes to ignition maps etc that 04B11/12 can use. I believe Mat said the underlying code seemed to be "buggy".

Anyway, if you've been following OV tune development from the beginning, you'll realize the majority of the effort surrounds the automatic trucks. They have additional issues from a bi-polar transmission to deal with, and they ARE the lion's share of Mat's clientele. I'm not making an excuse, it's just a fact. M/T is always second when it comes to development (I've never been happy about that). Mat bought an auto Pro for R&D - that's not by accident.

Yup the majority of the development is around the Auto no doubt. Its also a much larger client base with much more serve issues (I know, i had one. I fixed some of that with my 2017 MT lol). I've been running 1.03 on my 6MT for a while now, but I waited quite a while from order time to delivery to flash. MT is a second class citizen just about everywhere, including Toyota. Its a dying breed as far as most people are concerned but I love mine.

I'm sure 04b10 will get sorted out in time just like the 2018. You have to have orders to collect data to further development. its a vicious circle.
