It's not a bad thing if you buy with Windows 10 S. You can switch it to the full non-mobile version such as Home or Pro for free. But it's a one-time thing, there's no reversal, not that you'd want to.

I did it for my tuning laptop when I got it. Picked up a HP with 64GB of disk space, set it up, converted from S to full, good to go

Is that S to Full conversion necessary to use the laptop to flash?

I don't know. Could be. The S mode is really limited and doesn't allow the user to do much beyond basics. It's as if you took the capability of your smart phone but put it into a small laptop. Internet browser, Microsoft Word, media, things like that.

Idk why you wouldn't want to upgrade anyway. Like I said, it's free. I did some poking around, settled on the HP I use. It's 64-bit, has 64gb of disk space, 4GB of ram iirc. Chose it because I'd already researched and confirmed the free upgrade being a thing. Took it home and did just that.

Very simple to the point blog. I'm planning to go to base 2.0. SFOB is nice, but damn that throttle is nothing to joke about!

The files are up on our server.

But flash manager update is giving me trouble, and being annoying.

For the computer inclined, that would rather not wait, files can be downloaded by replacing your flash manager config file (attached here)

it goes into your folder when you click "open download location" button in Flash manager

    change .txt to .ini.

I know this is a terrible method. Sorry the standard update method is not working right now, and it's made by a 3rd party I don't know why it's not working at the moment. Hope to have it working any minute
