WRT power in 6th gear on a grade, my truck (04B10 1.03 M/T test tune) will pull better if I use a lighter touch on the throttle - if I bury it, it seems to nose over a bit in that situation, whereas if I just give it a touch more than required to maintain speed it seems to respond better. It's another quirk that should be fixed if it's even possible.

I believe @luminous was logging misfires and communicating with Mat WRT the surging/hesitation you speak of. I have them too, but not everyone does.

    Nice!

Did the file name include "1.03B"?

Received 1.03 for 04B11 from Mat last night and loaded the 87 tune file this morning. I have only spun around the block a few times, but so far so good!

The tune fixed many of my complaints I’ve had with the stock tune. Smooth and linear trottle response. No hesitation taking off from a stop. Quick throttle response. Second gear has better pull when accelerating from a slow roll (addressing a parking lot drivability annoyance I’ve always had)

I wasn’t expecting a power/torque increase but the more linear response from 0-3500 rpm makes the torque/power delivery feel... more normal. Still not quite as peppy as my old 4.0 Taco, but close enough that I’m happy with it.

So far haven’t noticed any misfires or any other anomalies. I still need to get it on the highway and up in the mountains to really see if it makes all my hopes and dreams coming me true. I’ll report back as I get more miles on it.

Not 1.03B for this ecu because it's the first tune version for this ecu type and ID.

Are the people receiving their files those who have been waiting to receive them or does this also count as an update to those who've had the tune previously?

I installed my tune about a month ago so not sure if there's an update or one on the way.

No, I believe this is just for people who have been waiting for their initial tune files and/or those with a 2018 model or a 04B10 ECU.

It's gonna be great once he gets caught up on orders and finalizes things w/ the new release. The incremental throttle, fueling, and VVT enhancements alone are much more refined!

    Thanks again Brandon, sounds great!

Hopefully those changes port over to the M/T, I guess we'll know for sure soon..

If it turns out you really like the 87 tune and $$ savings at the pump, don't ever try the 91 files. Ever. Don't.

Hello 5th Gear, nice to meet you. That was a nice surprise, the pull in 5th is a huge improvement on the highway. 6th finally can hold its own too.

I wish we had 91 octane around here. We have 87, 89, 93. Maybe I’ll just bite it and run 93. Now I’m really curious...

Just loaded 91 octane tune on 04B12 v1.03. So far noticeable changes in throttle response and consistency through out the power band. Haven’t had a chance to really get on it yet, so I will check back after a little bit of a more extensive test. I am also running AFE CAI with scoop and URD Spec U exhaust.

Good to hear, you basically have the same setup as me other than I have 04B11. I will say throttle response and consistency is much better than stock. I have now put on a few 100k's and the rattle is gone from the air box and the hesitation isn't happening as well. Maybe the computer learned to adjust. Anyways, pretty much a happy camper, Thank You Matt @OVTune. The truck should of came like this from the factory.

Have a service appointment at the dealer today so I flashed back to stock. Wow... the stock tune drives like garbage.

Has anyone taken theirs to get serviced with the tune?

I'm dropping it off this weekend or next weekend for 10k service.

I have not, but I have hard that it clears the write after the flash so the tune should not be detectable. I’m sure others may have more info as well. I asked that question when I first bought it because i didn’t want to re-flash every time I went to the dealer. @stevotivo12 told me he has brought his in several times to dealer with tune loaded and had no issues.
