What RPM range are you feeling this?

Sounds more like cam timing changes since RPM isn't changing much but engine load would be.

and yes TSS interferes directly with throttle.

Glad I don't have that crap....though I expect the next rig will whether I want it or not.

I was waiting to get more miles on my truck before mentioning it, but I noticed something like this too(possibly the same thing). I notice it most in 2nd-4th around 2000 RPM on the transition from no throttle or feathering to 1/4 throttle. It feels like the VVTi bump at 3500 that we used to get, but a little more pronounced. I assume it has to do with the cam timing changing rapidly? With the new power available down that low cruising around town in 4th is really nice. Is there any way to smooth that out?

Again, I only have 70 miles on it so far and maybe it is something that will take care of itself with some time. Just an observation.

I only have roughly 50mi on mine but I've also felt an occasional stuttering of some sort in 2nd gear, maybe around 2k to 3 or 3500. It's rare, hard to proc, so I need to play more to pin down exactly how to make it appear again and what exactly the rpm range. It's not a bad stutter either, acceleration is still superb during it, but it's there, you can feel just enough of it to notice it.

I wouldn't call what I feel a stutter or hesitation at all. It is literally a surge in power. The truck just accelerates through it and it feels like a kick in the ass. The power is nice, it just doesn't come on as smooth as if you're already at 10-20% pedal travel and stomp on it.

If it is happening at very low throttle / engine load, not flooring it, it's likely vvt.

That's what I thought. Not having a torque converter probably makes it much easier to feel in the MT.

Yeah it's only sound 2k rpm.

It has always done it, i didn't believe it was tune related.

It's always the same stretch of road, there is always traffic but this time it was really heavy traffic. I typically don't use my brakes when in that situation unless i have to, i always finesse the throttle and use engine braking. It only happens when slightly on throttle.

I'll turn off tss today and see if it happens again. I felt like the truck was telling me no no don't follow that closely (wasn't even that close)

In my experience the TSS auto-braking only kicks in if you’re traveling much faster than the car in front of you. I’ve been right on people’s ass in heavy traffic and it doesn’t care

I have 285's and 3" lift and TSS works perfect. Also have a pro grille.

I set it off once for auto braking while checking my blind spot to metge and traffic bowed up.

Normally it just beeps at me if I'm approaching to hot

I was just making a general inquiry and figured Mat would probably be the guy to ask

I have TRD Exhaust and TRD intake on mine. The snarl is very intimidating. I usually use that instead of horn when somebody is sleeping at the traffic light in front of me.

Flashed SuperFOB Premium. Reinstalled software and didn't even have to readd registry key. This is first time I regret working from home on Wednesdays. Looking forward to driving.

Well even with the PCS system off it still has the engine braking on/off feel. I believe it is just such a light amount of throttle it doesn't really know what to do with it, bumps in the road are probably making me push it more or less

The solution, shift to third gear no problem

On a side note, a whole tank of gas in and she is smooth as silk shifts are so much better. Still super happy. Thanks mat, now I don't feel like i wasted 39k

So there are an overwhelming amount of positive comments here and this may have been covered... does the 2.0 tune make it easier to drive around slowly and smoothly in 1st and 2nd?

Think creeping around in parking lots, slow moving traffic with varied slow speeds, lugging 2nd gear going 6 mph, trying to use 1st smoothly while going slow and shifting to 2nd without the clutch going clunk clunk, etc. Generally getting on and off the throttle quickly, but lightly.

Does it clean this stuff up if that makes sense?
