Can concur, happy with 2.0 for the most part, still waiting on resolution to the CEL on the dump tube file though. No big deal still runs great and I know he is busy trying to get the slushbox guys squared away.

Anymore...i dont miss it, i only missed it when trying to pull any type of grade below 2000 rpm, but beyond that i felt like those engines didnt breathe as well and felt unsure about itself the closer you got towards the ketchup.

Yep. They were great down low but that’s what you got. Didn’t make any sense really to rev it up cuz you never got any more from it

After 2.0 I’m totally content with the 3.5. It gave it what it needed on the low end and screams on the high end.

The 4.0 also sounded very unhappy when above 3500 rpm.

Have any of you guys been able to determine your new mpgs with either the base 87 or SFOB 87 tunes? I'd be curious if there's a difference between the two and also compared to the stock tune from Toyota.

I have a 2020 and flashed the prem superfob Posted on page 850 of this thread and it feels amazing, engine revs so much smoother and quieter. Shifting is a million times better.

When it was released in flash manager I downloaded the same thing (prem superfob) through the app in case there were any changes in the “final”. Flashed and reset LV. It feels like I went back to stock. I redownloaded file and flashed a second time and reset LV still felt terrible. I used the same procedure and went back to the file on page 850 and it feels amazing again. Let it idle 5 min in all 3 cases and drove 20+ miles but difference was immediately obvious.

Is there something wrong with the 2020 prem superfob file being downloaded through the app?

Flashing and resetting LV is going to make it terrible for the first few miles.

If you flashed the 2020 Torque only patch... then you flashed a mostly stock file.

Sorry I edited right as you posted that. I drove over 20 miles in all 3 cases and that’s a modest guess.
The file that feels great is 04B90+Super+FOB+Prem+OL.p5f on page 850 of this post and the one I download through the app is called sid_04B90_2.0_prem_superfob.p5f.

Is either of those torque only? I know the files are different in some way because the hash values are different.

You need to drive more than 20 miles after a LV reset

Ok thanks I will try going longer. It was just such a night and day difference I thought maybe the wrong file was being linked in the app. Right after the 5 min idle I could tell the tune from page 850 1st gear feels nuts and is way smoother revving. One through the app just felt stock. Going back to page 850 felt nuts right off the bat again.

If the one linked in the thread has all the same features I’ll just stay on it since it’s feeling good.

100% true.... i wouldnt pass any type of judgment until closer or after 100 miles, especially with resetting the LV. LV reset is taking everything your truck knew about life and yeeting it down the driveway. As for any non SFOB tune file, i cant speak on those... i went straight SFOB and never looked back, mpg has remained about 17 for me but im on 33's and drive a little angry haha.

I finally received my cable yesterday and installed Super FOB 87 and all I have to say is WOW. The truck feels completely different. 1st and 2nd gear are nuts and I can actually leave it in 3rd going up some pretty large hills getting in and out of my neighborhood now. The surge at 3500 rpm is almost gone. Only 80 miles since I installed the tune but overall I am very satisfied with OVTune

Anyone have any comparisons between base and SFOB? I just got back from a month long work trip and have been driving SFOB premium for 2 days now that I’m home. It’s certainly a whole different animal than previous tunes.

just wondering if it is even worth giving the base tune a try since I’m loving SFOB.

I had the Base version that was posted here for a while. I really liked it. When SFOB dropped by itself, I couldn't resist even though I was completely happy with Base.

Still running SFOB to see what the long term MPGs are.

Give both versions a try and see for yourself. I know some folks who were firmly in the 1.05 FOB camp who are happy with Base now.

I tried SFOB first and even after it settled in for a while I still found the throttle too touchy/jumpy in first and second so I switched to Base and it feels much more controllable to me. Other than that I thought they were pretty similar.
