You'll need to disable Windows defender (and any other security) when it's time for downloads. Those programs have a penchant for picking out important drivers and such and preventing them from downloading with everything else.

Same if/when you download techstream.

 

@OVTune will VF Tuner work with a mac or does it have to have windows?

 

Windows only. You can run it in Bootcamp I'm sure. There are many here already running the current tuning utility that way.

 

I’m about to find out myself. Just restored my Mac from a nasty downward spiral and went ahead and did a win10 partition. I sent my dongle in last week, and sent my system ID last night.

 

This is going to be an utter nightmare if there is no safe guards. You though it was bad before, good luck handling people when they blow something up lol. I for one will not be moving beyond 2.0, ever and will not be getting the new software. No reason what so ever.
Best wishes with the progress though. I'll keep a close on on the development for curiosity sake.

 

correct me if im wrong, but i know windows are required for the older tuners(dongles and handheld)? i have yet to see him say whats required for VFtuner?? thanks

I just moved from 1.05 to

2.0 Premium Octane (running 93) SuperFOB .

Is this the final release? I went to the Orange Virus website and there are a lot of new options for tuning yourself. I have a dongle that I plug in and flash myself and download the new tunes within the app. I look forward to their final version. Maybe I am on it now?

 

Yup, 2.0 is the final tune from OVT.

The vf tuner software, due out soon, will have base tunes that you have can go into and continue to modify, if you so chose

 

VF software for taco 3.5L was released yesterday, but final ECUs for MT are supposed to be released next week

Your purchase confirmation should have come with a Master Key that you’ll use to login to the software for the first time. It will also come with an email that includes instructions - one of the first steps is sending him your System ID so that he can return an email with your registration file. With this installed, you can use the VFTuner software. Without this step, you won’t be able to flash your car

Why are people sending in their Dongles? I just want to upgrade to 2.0 final and im happy. Are the people sending in their Dongles wanting to tweak things themselves on top of the final 2.0 release?

 

I can’t answer that one very well, but there are a few thousand pages of the story behind that one if you want to read the OVTune dev thread. You’ll have to send your dongle back if you have one, and want to continue to upgrade/support the tunes I believe.

 

Correct. Dongle trade in = free vf tuner software
