What's the difference between the 2.0 tunes for the 2016 MT found on the beta page (https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/2-0-public) and the 2.0 tunes available from within OVTuned Flash Manager?upload_2020-5-27_12-40-37.jpg

    Beta Filename: 04B13-2.0+Beta+-91-+21175.p5f
    OVTuned Flash Manager Filename: sid_04B13_2.0_Reg_SuperFOB.p5f

Like we talked about yesterday, the files on the Beta page are skinnied down test tunes. They don't have all the goodies.

The files on FM are full versions with all the goodies.

MT folks can forget about the Beta page, esp as the latest and greatest test tune was not posted there (the single torque map test tune).

    Got it - thanks!

There's a lot of info out there, just getting things straight.

Where is the detailed info on the tunes available in FM?

All the old info is in the OVT blog section which is not linked on the site anymore but is thankfully still on their server:

Ah shit, that's exactly what i've been looking for! why isn't this linked anymore?

Also, we talked about whether to unlock 13 or 14 - if we know 14 will be released here soon, i guess it wouldn't hurt to go through with unlocking 14 for my ECU and taking a look while i wait, right? once the 14 2.0 comes out, i'll still be able to open it from the tune pack and do the same edits (alternator voltage).

    Thanks!

I have no idea why it isn't there anymore. The Facebook section is gone also, which I really don't care about.

I unlocked 04B14 because I am confident that @OVTune will be supporting it with 2.0 tunes. Other folks need to assess that decision or wait to see what get posted. Regardless, there is no time lost as unlocking now or waiting won't move along the vF mod fun.

The one risk is that the Tune Packs drop without 04B14 because they may still be working on it? Myself, I am content to wait.

    Yeah, understood - good info.

Do you anticipate THAT big of a difference between 13 2.0 and 14 2.0? I'm quite happy on 13 and if 14 won't improve anything THAT big, i might just stay put and get this battery thing off my plate.

Edit: i hate facebook and despise when companies post facebook only content.

I'm an update whore. Phones, gizmos, cars, I like the latest firmware. Except for Microsoft, the newest stuff always seems to work better. It's my jam. :notsure:  :help:

I do not think that anyone has posted about a false limp mode in an MT. That said, we do not know what else might have been touched under the hood. So, I live by this:

Right on - i'm with you! gotta have the latest and greatest technology. Alright, i'll sit and wait until the 14 2.0 tune is release, then i'll unlock 14 and move on. If 14 isn't released, i'll unlock what i have. Thanks!

Last we heard from Mat on b14 was that he’s a bit behind on it, but also shared that it’s 95.5% identical to b13, and he’d expect it to be launched with the rest of the ECUs when 2.0 comes out. That could change, but it is what it is at this point. They’re a small team working on a lot of technical things well past my expertise, so they’ll make it happen when they make it happen.

Doesn’t mean I’m not anxious though - TW is hopefully making a fortune off my impressions with all this refreshing I’m doing.

Yep. I am in no rush.

The decision is to enjoy SFOB some more to test 04B14 Stock for a couple weeks or so. NBD either way.

Ive gone through so many pages....so many...
Do I just need to buy both of these items to get the tune? Im braced for my verbal berating.

I see I need the cable too that’s sold out but I think I can find that online elsewhere.

On the website it only has AT’s under compatible vehicles. Am I missing something?

edit: under the vF tuner software

I had to check, very interesting as I have already used VFTune on my truck and a co workers truck. I have not done any custom tuning,I only flashed the already available 2.0 tune for the M/T on my co workers truck and I flashed back to the 2.0 BETA tune on my truck until Mat can resolve the CEL issue I have on the 2.0 dump tube file that was not present on the 2.0 beta decated file. Both of us are 2017's with 04B13.
