I have not been on this thread since page 837. Any updates on a GL release?

    Ha!

I think it states pretty clearly "2016 Manual transmission ECU reflash" in the thread title.

A bit off topic, but i just spoke to someone with AT and they claimed there is no 2.0 perf tune for them yet?

It happens sometimes. And sometimes they bring in some good discussion. Well, other than the clockwatchers and complainers . . .

Yes. At the moment, there is only 2.0 Base Full with Gear, Tire, and Enhanced Throttle options. The rest (2.0 Final) will be released when OVT can get it all sorted out. With the number of options, it will either be thousands of tunes or using vF to assemble the tune.

Interesting. Well, im even more glad that i bought the right transmission!

Also, you guys keep on talking about DTC and "resets". Where do i find these "resets" and is it a big deal if i cleared DTC only?

Yeah. The HW is good, but I think I would be as happy with it as the CVT in the Forester.

They are in the Flash Tool. DTC is typically reset when you flash or pull a battery cable. Any OBD total can do it also. The LV Reset is the big one. Doing both cleans the slate. Reset them and idle for 5min, touching nothing. Drive for 10mi+, then cycle the ignition. That does the majority of the settling.

    OVT's notes on it:

    "Regarding reset AT / LV.

    So this isn't confusing

Resetting LV / AT after a flash = not required

Resetting LV / AT after a flash = is not harmful, and may be done at your discretion

Resetting LV / AT after a flash = Should be done IF you have drivability issues (very odd shifting behavior, very odd engine behavior, or you hear any knock/detonation)

Resetting LV / AT after a flash = May make the truck run noticeably rougher for the first few miles (especially the transmission)

Resetting LV / AT should NOT be done just because you feel like doing it.

Resetting the LV / AT should NOT be done if you haven't recently flashed.

If you Reset LV / AT right after a flash = the first 25mi to 50mi, the trucks shifting characteristics can be ignored

If you Reset LV / AT or even flashed the truck and are making judgements without putting AT LEAST 25 miles on the truck, you are not getting an accurate representation of how the truck will perform."

    Thank you Tony.

So the LV resets are in a flash tool as well? I dont recall seeing that button there? Do you think i should do it as well? I only drove about 30 miles and only cleared the DTCs.

    Yep. These guys:

Some folks feel otherwise, but I do the reset and idle up with every flash. The first time that I did it, it made a big difference. Just part of my process now. Coming from Stock, I would definitely do them.

No need to flash. Just turn on the ignition without starting the engine and hit them.
