    Thanks! My bad.

The last map list that I made from Version 1.2.8.1 still has the old name. I will make a new list and update the threads.

IMHO I believe the surging has to do with the airload tables. I left everything stock (premium fob) and increased all 4 tables by 110%. I would surge during accel in 3rd from 2k-3k every time. I ended up smoothing values vertically for each engine load. Butt dyno says it feels more solid than all the other mods I've tried. It's worth a shot if you want to test it out. YMMV.

Yes. I made some small changes in one critical area at the bottom of the ALC maps and it was a mess. There are certain parts near the bottom that should just be left alone.

IMO, OVT's 04B04 ALC examples (same Stock maps as ours) was a very good starting point for me.

Like you said though, with the variance in the Tacos, it is hard to make a one-size solution.

Also, I added OVT's explanation in relation to the new map names in the 1st Post of the ALC thread.

It would make sense to me.

But i wonder how this is affected at different elevations.

Im working on some now, but only focusing on the .82 lambda tables and leaving the .999 alone.

Its basically a rich (.82) vs lean (.99)

every area we seem to have issues is in the higher load, acceleration, etc. which would point more towards .82 tables.

I also have considered flipping the bit for closed loop operation, essentially running open loop and seeing if it performs better (for testing only)

For example, here is the one ive been working on this week.

Top picture is the next version compared to ovtunes.

bottom picture is the next version compared to the one i posted earlier today.

I'm slowly increasing values until i find a balance between controllable throttle and manageable rev hang.

this has been a long slow process, im selecting RPM ranges where i feel flatness and am increasing in 1% increments, then smoothing them out with the nearby cells.

Im never doing a CTRL I on more than 3 cells at a time, if i need to do 9 cells, i start with the first 3 in a line, move over 1 cell and select those 3, etc.

Then i do those same areas from top to bottom the same way, 3 cells at a time.

Also, if you hold your right click button on the map picture and drag it, you can zoom in and out. Also, on the logger, you can zoom in and out. To do it in the logger, left click and hold. Drag from top left to bottom right to zoom. drag from bottom right to top left to reset zoom.

Hey Guys, long time no talk. So i've been running 04A71 Super FOB Prem OL.vft on my truck for a while. If I wanted to do the ECU TSB update to 04A72, does a 04A72 super FOB Prem OL.vft file exists?

Also has anyone out there updated from 04A71 to 04A72 recently and have any thoughts on it?

    Thanks guys,

The 04A72 TP is not out yet. About a week ago, @OVTune said that the 04A72 and 04A42 TPs will be a while.

@MOC221_ flashed to 04B42 and 04B14 has been out since last year. 04B91 was a late production factory tune. My feeling is that all of these are the same basic calibration and a big leap over the old TSB tunes. I drove two tanks on 04B14 Stock and took a 2020 MT on 04B91 for a drive. They felt the same.

This TSB tune feels a bit like 1.05 Base and is quite good. The OV Tunes on top are even better.

Yep, and stock files are just as mushy as I "forgot" they are. I'm annoyed, but at least it ain't surging ATM.

That is good stuff. Hopefully the Tune Pack and a little bit of editing puts you in nirvana.

That limiter comes fast in first gear for sure.

Then follows up with the let down that is 2nd gear.

They could have done so much better with the gear ratios on this truck.

2nd a little closer to 1st, 3rd between where it is now and where 2nd should be, 4th stay the same, 5th is ok, 6th a little taller.

And then there is reverse.... Yeah reverse

There is a kit from URD allowing a bolt on transmission swap? Anyone tried that? Just too ridiculous as far as expense?

im tuned, not doing 7500 rpm. I kick it off at 7200

Wouldn't change anything at this point. I would do gears and larger tires, but to be honest, mines a highway princess. It hauls tools and kayaks
