I believe it is exactly as the name implies. I have not researched it. Just curious.

I have a question for everyone. I have been meaning to ask this and haven't seen anything on the subject. How come there is no talk about the front drive shaft needing to be corrected, or a differential drop kit needed?

    Thanks,
    Rob

They used to be part number CS047R, now EL095R and EL096R. Read all about it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-ome-dakar-leaf-pack-review.489540/

Edit, I'll add a quick review. I like the way the truck handles. When I first went out I was trying to cycle the springs to get them to settle some before I had it aligned. Hitting bumps way faster than I normally would it was very smooth. Driving at speed down rough roads much better than stock OR. I have LR UCA's and ECGS bushing as well. I don't like how the rear shocks limit flex. I wish I had bought extended brake lines and done a little more research and got something longer travel. For bolt on though it does ride very nicely. I will be adding a 3 degree shim soon to see if I can get rid of a small vibration.
Edit: I meant longer travel for the rear suspension since the shocks limit the springs flex. The front is only going to get what it gets.

Didn't have a great experience with my add-a-leaf for 3 inch lift. Squeaky and the ride was uncomfortable.

    @remgu2000

Here is what I installed in mine. I did some measuring and went with a 4* shim. Most I have seen use 3-4*.

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p120/Axle_Shim_KIT.html

I only had a vibration from about 40-0 and none on take off, bit this cured it. I also had the needle bearing vibe after lifting, but note prior. Took to Toyota yesterday and they are replacing the entire front diff under the latest TSB. Also have a trans pan gasket leak be g fixed. Hope the new diff is upgraded a d not just the same part. We will see.

I also removed my carrier bearing drop, made no difference after shims and took first shaft angle back stock. I also tried the diff drop and it made my needle bearing worse. I took it out also prior to taking into dealer.

Hoping someone in here might be able to provide some insight. I want to do a light upgrade on my stock sport suspension, but I am not interested in too much lift at the moment (maybe later). I've been thinking about going with OME 884 coils up front for a modest lift. However, elsewhere on TW, a couple people have said that because the spring rate on the 884s is 590lb and the stock coil is 710lb, that the 884s will sag over time with use. Is there any truth to that? Should I be worried or naw? I see plenty of folks on TW running the 885s on 3rd gens and those also have a 590lb spring rate, so it should be pretty comparable, right?

I used the full OME kit with the Dakar Leaf packs with all leafs left in. I knew I'd be adding weight up front with the winch bumper and so the front has 1/4" aluminum spacers above the struts to compensate for the 1/4-1/2" droop the extra weight added. That way I still clear fine and it still sits the way I want. I ordered everything from HeadStrong Offroad.

Dang, thought I had my mind set on the 887s with the soft ride nitrochargers because I only want 2" of lift and thought I would have avoided all the vibration issues and need for new UCAs, but now I'm not so sure...

From what I've found, is it's all shit luck. You might have some issues before and the lift fixes it. You might be perfect before and after. Or you might get vibs after. Every trucks different.

And you don't need the ucas, but it's better with them

Thinking about going with the 885 coils because I don’t want too much lift up front, has anyone done this is on a 3rd gen DCLB OR 4WD AUTO 3.5?

With the OME kit, has anyone determined other pieces that would be useful during initial install? Extended brake lines? Axle shims? Etc? Thanks for any info

Ive flexed pretty damn hard, no need for ext brake lines... I needed axle shims... needed 3 degrees, but went with 4. Front what I've read, each truck behaves differently when lifted. My advice would be to lift it, drive around and if there are noticeable vibrations, try to carrier bearing drop kit and hope that takes the vibration out, then shim the rear if not.
