hmm, after reading and reading many posts about this, it definitely seems like an ICON scheme.

    Thanks!

Hope you all can give me some advice here...I have a 2016 DCSBOR with a winch and hidden mount up front totaling about 90 pounds. A dual battery system (which places the second battery near the passenger firewall) is in the future. I have CBI bed bars and a CVT Mt. Rainier tent, totaling about 210 lbs on the bed. With camping gear im guessing the bed has no more than 500 pounds in/over it. I got firestone airbags on the rear which have lifted it probably 1.5" (didn't measure before). The other day I noticed the CV axles were at such an angle to suggest that the front end is sagging just a little from the winch. I'd like to pick the front end up 1-1.5", but really like the stock ride. I had 5100's/trd sport coil on my previous 2006 taco and wasn't too impressed, and still wasnt impressed after switching to the eibach coil. I'm thinking maybe the OME 90021 strut and 887 spring should get me right around there without firming up the ride any, and I would of course get OME shocks for the rear as well, but forego the Dakar springs since the airbags are serving me well. Does anyone have any input or experience with this?

I would run the OME 888's up front. When they settle with that winch bumber, I bet your truck will be sitting level.

Also call around. I know low range off road stocks and sells OME For Tacoma and they always are super knowledgeable about this kinda stuff. They ussuly don't mind sharing some ideas with u.

887 and 888 are the same spring load as 883, 884, 885, the height difference is 400 vs 405.
If you plan on weighting up the front, go with the 886; this spring is at 402 mm and has the beefiest springload than the others. It will not settle.

I found info at Headstrong Offroad website.

That is the best tacoma I've seen, if you don't mind, what's your exact set up and wheel/tires? Thanks.

No problem! I've looked at so many I keep coming back to this one.

    Did you do UCAs?
    What rims with 285s?
Trying to decide OME/Bilstein or full OME kit.
    Thanks again!

    @ProfessorX

So you're running the Bilstien 5100 shocks and OME coils? Are you also running the Toytech leafs? Is this the 3" adjustable kit?

I looked online and the Bilstien kit I saw for 2017s was only 2".

Yours looks like more than that for sure. Looks great.

So if I run a full OME kit, skip UCAs - -Any reason why not needed?
(Daily driver, tow once a week, would like to hit trails once a month/ 16 trd sport 4wd).

OME lift, Light Racing UCA's, Leer Topper.
OME was designed to work with stock uca's. The stocks will hit coils under full droop and aftermarket should miss giving you slightly more droop. Or at least that is my understanding as I am doing the same set up, but will be replacing uca's.

The reason I'm not going with UCAs with my set up is this; Cost vs Benefit / I've had long conversations with sales/techs at Rogue Off-Road (Las Vegas) and Alpine Off-Road in Western Colorado / They didn't understand why people were being advised to do this with this degree of upgrade.

dakar650 has a good point re: the physics of the suspension.

If I was building a long travel kit or adding 3" + of lift , then I could justify new UCAs as a beneficial component.

Yea, I agree 100% and from what I am reading, the OME setup is not designed for long travel, period. So........

I live 2 hours from Moab, UT. Just did an overnighter Sat and Sunday, we drove up onion creek into the Kokepeli and then out to Thompson Canyon.
The ride was improved over stock. This package is great and worth the cost. You'll be happy with it

Did you previously post up a link, or specs to exactly what setup you have?

yes, there is a post with the exact components. I think you can click on my posts and find it.

    This is the package:

    F:
    90021 Nitrocharger Sport Shock
    2888 Coil Over Springs

    R:
    60091 Nitrocharger Sport Shock
    CS047R Medium Dakar Leaf Springs

You will need them to press bushings into the OME leaf packs.
May need carrier shims/ I ordered them, but I'm not sure if they are really needed. I get a small vibration at 18 MPH / I'm going to take them off to see if it goes away. Some off road shops say they are not needed for this package, so they only install if needed.

    Thanks so much!

I'm trying to get all my resources in order.

This sounds exactly like the kit @blaineehughes has. ALthough, his words, "I also didn’t do diff drop, not needed if you have carrier bearing drop kit from OME." "The carrier bearing drops your drive shaft with a little spacer to prevent vibes." "Trim packer on driver front strut for tacoma lean."

So yea, these setups sound pretty damn nice. Are you also getting 2 inches of lift or more? 2" sounds like a little amount compared to 4" or 6" but I would rather stay closer to specs. I just need a little height and a softer, more controlled ride over bumps at higher speeds.

    I wish I could afford 3 or 4 inches and a by-pass kit but........
