Anyone swap these out for BSM mirrors? I had similar mirrors on my previous cars and feel like they were much better than the BSMs (plus they don’t work with steel bumpers anyhow).

We have a RAV4 with these mirrors and the Taco has the BSM. I don’t rely on the light indicator on the Taco, but I’d almost say I like the BSM better. The little convex area just seems too small to be too useful on such a small mirror. I guess it’s better than nothing though if your BSM isn’t working anymore.

I installed a set of these mirrors after I put on my rear bumper which killed the BSM. After coming from a Tundra with towing mirrors which had a convex section which could be adjusted separately these little mirrors are kinda a joke.

BUT I will say that they are way better than nothing in terms of giving me peace of mind while changing lanes. Especially with a cap or bed rack the blind spots are rather large and these just make life easier.

I never 100% trusted the BSM either whereas I trust my eyes with what I see in the mirrors.

Can anyone confirm what part number I need for my 18 trd sport. I do not have the tech package or bsm. I see the part number posted in the pics on the first page. I used the Vin supplied on a post. Part number came up as 87961-or220 and 87931-or210. I have heated and power mirrors. Looking for a correct part number to use. My dealer has part numbers 87961-42d20 and 87931-42d50 in Stock. I assume the part number I posted first might be Canadian part number, maybe both will work. Anyone have the part number I need?

The part numbers on the first post are correct. If using a VIN to confirm, make sure the VIN comes from a 2016-2018 RAV4 LE.

I’m guessing these work even if you don’t have heated mirrors? You just wouldn’t have the wires to connect?

The RAV4 mirrors go heat. It's a plug and play.

Haha did you read the first post? It’s just sweeping out the mirror plate, not the entire mirror assembly.

Yes. I read the post. If the mirror plate is the same, I’d be down to try and swap the whole thing if they power fold.

I was looking into this when I saw your powerfolding mirror thread.
You can either get the JDM or EDM model RAV4's mirrors and control panel.
Some other parts can be found on Alibaba.

All 3rd gen mirror shapes and clips are the same. Hope that helps.
