10-s platinum came with a badass wireless controller, and a $200 rebate... just wish it was an app...

Still was hella pricey, but like mooseknuckle, I've always wanted a Warn, made in America, and a great warranty.
Christ I paid premium for a pro, why would I not pay premium for a winch.

I use pool noodles in a lot of kayak mods too. Salt water wears them out, but they are cheap to replace.

I did the same. Cancelled the cheap Chinese Smitty and upgraded to the quality Warn. The rebate and controller made it even more acceptable.

Yeah, the Warn advanced controller that comes with the Platinum Xeon is a perfect pairing for our bumpers.

Taking my time putting things together until I can get some help lifting this thing.

Getting in here was a bit interesting. Obviously, I could only get a torque wrench on the outer bolts.

How accessible was it for you guys to feed the line and attach it to the drum after the bumper is installed, or did you do it before?

I'd also like to note that I had to slightly bend the mounting tabs for the Rigid Ind. light bar to fit. I'm crossing my fingers that it's aimed properly. :fingerscrossed:

Agreed...I had to have another person lift the winch until I could get those front bolts seated.

Since I actually did the whole install twice, I got to do it two different ways. In my opinion I think the biggest thing (depending on the model of winch you're running) it to have your cable/line at least installed in the drum before it goes in. On the Zeon I have it would have been difficult to get the line initially attached properly (if you used the method Warn recommends, that is) after it was already tucked away. The first time I did the install I had the line installed and I just hand-tensioned all of it onto the spool so it would be out of the way while I mounted the bumper.

The second time I did the install I still had the line attached and through the fairlead, but fully unspooled. No issues there either, just had to deal with 100 feet of winch line hanging out the front as I finished buttoning everything up.

That all being said, I think @Kennedy didn't attach his line until after the install - you may want to PM and ask his experience.

I'm working with the Zeon 10-S. I'll probably attach the line to the drum through the fairlead and then reel it once the bumper is in place then. Thanks!

This is is curious are you guys saying that your winch doesnt come with the line already spooled in it or did you guys take it out? Maybe a synthetic thing?

Is it a synthetic thing? or is this what warn does now, all the winches I have ever had were already spooled but they are wire rope, but my two winches are 10 years old.

Yeah, it's Warn's synthetic "Spydura" cable.

Affirmative. I'm running a Warn Zeon - it comes with the synthetic line not installed yet.

Definitely easier to attach the cable prior to mounting the bumper, however, it is doable once mounted.
I did in in 40 degree drizzle in the dark. Use of the wire to pull it through is key...

Just want to send a thank you to @MooseknuckleV22 and @Kennedyusmc for all their advice and info for installing this bumper.

I took some pics of how I ran the wire for the LED light bar and where I put the relay. I really dislike relays so in time as things begin to collect I may buy another relay/fuse box like the one in my Jeep.

    IMG_1252.jpg
Relay and excess wire ziptied and tucked up into the fender.

    IMG_1256.jpg
Single 1/2" cut with a razor and pushed the wire through

I took all the advice I could get and the install was quite easy.

I didn't do half of what the directions said:I removed the grill and taped the bumper per the instructions. Cut the section of bumper off (while attached to the truck) then took the the crash bar off. My winch would not fit so I drilled out the weld spots on the crossmember while still attached and removed it (kennedyusmc has a post on this, though I drilled it while mounted on the truck). Mounted the LED light bar and winch, then used a trans jack to position it into place, ran the wiring and mounted it.

yeah, mine was a bit more because of the RI SR20 light bar.

All in with winch I was about 2900 before the $200 rebate.
