    They are part of the bumper. I've read guys having the 4Runner version of this bumper being pulled out by the shackle mounts and heard zero complaints. They're solid. I believe they're reinforced from the inside of the bumper.

    Winch access requires opening the hood and it's all right there in the space between the grill and the radiator.

    Reach out to Southern Style Offroad and they can definitely answer any specifics... I have the Superwinch Tiger Shark 9500 and it fit greatbwithout having to move the solenoid.
