Hey guys, I’m new here and have a question. I have a ‘17 Tacoma TRD off road and just installed the SSO slimline bumper. I love it but am experiencing the sag in the front. I am all stock and am not planning on lifting it or much else at this point.
My question is what do I need to release the sag? I don’t want to spend too much money but just want a simple fix. I’ve been all over this thread and just takes too long to find the right answer. It sounds like I can add just a coilover to resolve this but really not sure what I need. Thanks for your time.

Easiest and cheapest option would be some 1/4” spacers above the stock shocks. Better solution would be new suspension that can better handle the additional weight you have added.

Thanks. I don’t want to do a spacer because that won’t alleviate the compression from added weight, correct? Willing to spend a few hundred $$$. Just want the truck level without the shocks being compressed. Sorry if I sound like an idiot, just don’t know enough about it or what I really need I guess. Thanks for helping me out!

Meh, I did a spacer. Noticed no difference when driving at all.

How much sag are you getting? Any photos? I’m already prepared for my ass end to settle with a bed cover, rack, and tent. It will level out.

Not with stock shocks, and I believe the OEMs are over 700lbs anyways.

As soon as you find out let me know. Read a thread about pro springs not having any appropriate ones to swap to.

So what’s the best option to alleviate sag? Hard to believe OEM is 700lbs if I’m getting the sag

I was skeptical as well but Toytec posted an article about sending stock springs out and they came back rate at 717lbs. Easiest and cheapest is a spacer on the front, 1/4” should work fine. Better solution is new front shocks and springs to better handle the weight.

Has anyone upgraded the Heise 20" lighter to a Baja Designs S8? What hardware or modifications are required?

    Nice truck.
I'm getting ready to too install my sso bumper and didn't think you could leave the factory off road tow hook on, looks like you did. Could you let me know how you were able to?

Yes the SSO bumper does not interfere at all with the factory recovery hook.

I’m joining the SSO Slimline club, well in 8 weeks or so anyways. Be excited to get this. Still have to get a winch before it arrives but I got time. Pretty sure I’m going to go with the Smittybuilt X20C. Dread the cut but I will get er done.

Installed my SSO Slimline bumper with 20" Rigid's and Warn Zeon 10-S winch about 1 month ago. Well designed and constructed bumper. Easy to install for average DIY'er (weekend with 6 pack and a friend if possible). Went with Warn short wiring kit to move winch's electrical box topside into the engine bay next to windshield washer fluid reservoir. Easier access to plug winch remote control into. Also, hoping to keep enough space left behind the grille for the intercooler?!?

Recommend the SSO and very happy with it so far. Only regret is questioning whether I may want a full aftermarket bumper instead of the slimline down the road for the added protection. Otherwise no issues what so ever.
