SSO doesn’t offer aluminum, unless this is a brand new option.

Sorry, my bad. It's SOS not SSO. I did have a SSO bumper on an earlier Tacoma and it was well made, but took months to get it. I have a buddy in CO that has the SOS aluminum version with winch and has towed himself and others out with it. It's considerably lighter. I guess I'll be a guinea pig and hope for the best. I've also had the SB X2O 10K and it's a good winch. Also a Warn PTO winch in the 70s on a '53 Willys M38-A1, that was bomb proof. This time I'm going with XRC 9500. The wireless conked out a couple of times on the X2O, but the hardwire connection worked well, so I'll just get the wired system this time around. The XRC is quite a bit lighter than the X2O as well. Between the two I'll save nearly 100 lbs off the front of the truck. Just my thing. I'll report back when it's all installed. BTW, I always try and winch with a snatch block to save on wear and tear. It's not always possible, especially in the desert with few trees, but it's a good precaution. You can even haul out a monstrous F-350 that way pretty easily. That guy gave me 20 bucks for the effort. I guess if you have a $70,000 truck it's worth it. All my opinion.

Install coming this weekend with a Warn 8000 VR-S.

Of our curiosity, how much sag/ what kind of height change has everyone been experiencing? I currently run the OME kit with 887 springs.

I installed my SSO bumper and winch over the weekend and lost a full 1" up front with my OME kit and 887 springs.

Is anyone else on here running the OME kit and which springs do you recommend? I am gona upgrade to the 888 or 886, but feel the 886 may be overkill.

Any thoughts or feedback is greatly appreciated!

Can you guys tell me what thickness plating is used on the winch mount? I'm trying to figure it out by looking at photos and it looks to be either 3/8" plate or thinner steel that's been bent at the edges?

Also, do these use 1/8" steel for the skin? I'm trying to decipher the steel they used.

    Any help is appreciated!

Question for those who have installed the SSO Slimline bumper. The instructions call for 1 inch masking tape to lay out the plastic bumper cut line. Have you been to Home Depot lately? There is no 1 inch tape! They’ve gone metric in the paint department and carry only 24 mm, which is .94 inch.

Is that what most are using?

    Thanks.

    All the things!
Yes, theres no true 1" tape. We're all using the 0.94" tape.

I installed mine last weekend. There isn’t room for my light bar and winch control box so I ordered longer wires to relocate the box. Then I’ll spool and install the fairlead.
