2016 stock radio problems

My radio was replaced soon after I bought it.

 

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed I use a usb to play my music over 300 plus songs but there is no way to browse through the albums unless you do it through the head unit itself also the phone list can't scroll through unless i do it through the head unit is this normal? my 2015 Tacoma i was able to navigate through everything via the steering wheel controls. Just wondering if its just my Radio or is this something they changed on the 2016 it is a Non Nav unit and non jbl system

Same radio issue with a new 2018 TRD Off Road. About 800 miles on the truck and my wife told me the radio completely malfunctioned - station tuning didn't work, turned off, could not be turned back on. She pulled off the road, stopped/restarted the truck and the radio came on, but would only hiss when scanning for stations, turned itself off. At lease there is history hear which will hopefully give me leverage at the dealership for resolution. Nothing was plugged into USB port. Thanks for raising the issue.

 

I don't have the software problems but the screen is lifting up in the corners dealer will replace it but I'm afraid to have that done and start having problems like you folks-
