I stopped by my local Line-X shop and had them spray my grill. It's three parts the outer ring the grill and the Toyota emblem. I had them spray all. I like the way it turned out, although it will probably not be everyone's cup of tea. Can't wait to get my 3" suspension lift and some 285/65R16 KO2's.

Well if I am ever homeless I could live behind my grill. Looks like my Lic plate frame is broken.

I really am loving the Sand with the black accent's.

I may go back and have them do the rear chrome parts of the bumper to match.

Looks good. I'm looking at getting my grill, side mirrors, and hard shell linexed.

there should be no chrome on quicksand. everything just looks so much better in black on that color.

Looks good, if you don't mind me asking, what did they charge you?

I just rang up my local LineX shop in Rancho Cucamonga just to see what they would quote. $150 for standard LineX and $200 for the no fade mix.

$150 and they took it apart and put it back together. They said $125 if you just bring in the loose pieces.

Where is that one? I think when I get sliders, I'll head in there, get the sliders, hard top, mirrors, and grill done.

Empire Line-X. 9261 Bally Ct, cross street is 6th. Coming from LA you exit Haven off the 10 fwy.

They do quality work. Had my F250 bed sprayed there a few years back with minimal fade and it's held up great.

Awesome! I can't decide if I want my fiberglass shell sprayed or not yet. I think it would look sweet.

Personally if i were to black out the grille, i would leave Toyota emblem alone, otherwise it seems excessive and 2001 with those "apc/import/jdm" scene back in the days if you know what i mean...

Is there usually any peeling or other degradation issues with this stuff?

No peeling as long as it's prepped correctly. The only degradation you'd face is discoloration. Turns from a black sheen to darkish grey over time in the sun unless you pay more for the no fade mix. This stuff is tough as nails though.

I like it, and have similar plans (chrome rear bumper corners too). But i am thinking about a custom emblem in a different color.

I too think this on the chrome portions of the rear bumper would look great. I think leaving the emblem chrome or maybe color-matching it to the paint would look cool too.

EDIT: ok, don't judge, this literally is a 2-minutes photoshop:

Well done, I had wondered if anyone was going to do this. How hard was it to get the grill off of the truck?

This seems like such a better solution than the plastidip route. I just hate the idea that the coating can just be peeled off. Even if it manages to stay on, I know myself and I'll always be looking it over after every car wash just to make sure. I'd rather have something that is permanent.

As for the Toyota emblem, I would probably have left that chrome unless you are planning to debadge the whole truck, in which case I would paint black. Or if you planned to paint the other badges black as well then that would look good.

If it starts to fade, use some "rhino shine" on it. It is sold at Rhino liner shops. I just used it on some parts on my truck that I put Herculiner on. Makes it look brand new. $14-16 a bottle.
